Expertise
As a lifetime resident of Jacksonville, I am very familiar with the Jacksonville area and can assist others with `staying and playing` in the area. I have been a season ticket holder from day one and was also a season ticket holder of the old USFL Jacksonville Bulls. I attend several training camp sessions each season. Also familiar with tailgating, parking and shuttle service. Past member of Jacksonville Super Bowl Host Committee. Update: June 29, 2006: I am also now a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars Champions Club, a group formed by the Jaguars to assist in promoting the Jaguars in the community and help sell season tickets. Question
Hey Scott,
I don`t mean too beat this subject into the ground but I just heard Taylor`s injury is to his knee, and is a little worse than thought.  With the beat up line and this new injury, what kind of year could he have??  Will he be back by week 2??  Thanks>
Tim

Answer
Tim,

The lastest I have heard is that the injury to Taylor is a strain of the MCL in his left knee and that he is definatley out for week 1, possibly week 2 as well. As evidenced from his VERY slow recovery from the hamstring injury last year, this injury has the potential to keep him sidelined even longer. Hopefully his new diet and conditioning will benefit him in his recovery. My personal belief is that he will be back for game 2 at Baltimore and that THIS injury will not hamper him all season.

As for the o-line, they pretty much got handled again. The anticipated starting line from left to right will be Boselli, rookie Brad Meester, Wade, Stai and Wiegert, and is much different from what has been on the field so far. The biggest problem then will be getting some continuity amongst the line, since they will not have had any game expierence with that line-up playing together. Can that happen in the last preseason game (if Boselli plays)? I don't know, but having Cincinnati for the first game will help.

If Mack or Howard are the feature backs, even for a few weeks, then this line much produce holes, as neither guy has shown they can make it on thier own. On the bright side, Stith showed he has the ability to make big plays (can he be the replacement for Tavain Banks?) but his size will limit what he can do. Nice third down back but not a feature back.

Best case for the Jags this season is that Boselli and Taylor make it through with out any more injuries and that the new o-line is able to perform at a decent level. The skill positions, esp. QB and receivers, can overcome somewhat of a drop-off by the o-line, but not to the extent that it happened Saturday. Seven sacks?!?!? That won't work, even with the skill players behind them!

A little long winded, but I hope it answers your question. Feel free to ask questions anytime.

GO JAGS!
