Question
HI Howard,
I admire your expertise range.  On the XJ6s, is there a year you found least troublesome?  Some folks are telling me the 95-97s were the best, including XJRs.    What are your thoughts on this?
Thank you kindly.
Ken
PS: I used to subscribe to Jaguar magazine, go  to  all the XK-120,140  meets,  and almost bought a Mark 3.8 but missed it!    Thanks again!

Answer
Hi Ken,
I have no experience with any of the Jags after the Series III but have heard the same from people who do have later model Jag experience. (95 etc XJ-6) Not heard much about the XJR.
I started working at a Jag dealer in 1960 so I have experience on the 120 on up to the XJ-6. My dream Jag is a MK II 3.8 straight stick and chrome wire wheels. I am still kicking myself for passing up good deals on them while they were affordable. I currently would love to have a 3.0 V-6 four wheel drive X model. Or one of the diesels not brought into the US.
