On a 1977 XJ6L
Howard,
Got the carbs torn down and put back together.
The carb body on the water choke side and the water choke housing
both have an empty threaded hole.
Please see attached photos.
Should these be plugged?
The carb schematic lacks this detail.
Thank you,
David

Answer
Hi David,

The hole on the carb body next to a peg was used to hold a bracket that held the cable housing for a manual choke cable. (Not used on a auto choke system) I could not find any reference to the one on the auto choke housing. You should just confirm that the hole does not go all the way into the choke assembly and it is just a dead end hole that mounted something for a different model car. Over the years that carb could have came off of some other kind of car.
