AboutSienna Expertise I live on the west coast of the island, in the sugar cane valley of Westmoreland parish, just outside the beach resort town of Negril, and will be happy to assist with questions that would cover the areas of the west and southwest coasts....areas such as Negril, Whitehouse, Treasure Beach.
I can help withquestions pertaining to Jamaican culture, food, places of interest, your general hotel location in regards to activities or excursions in your area, whether you're in a villa, resort, or small independent hotel.
I am however, NOT a travel agent, and cannot be of help making reservations at any all-inclusive properties.
Experience I moved here from California nine years ago, to live here with my husband, a Jamaican....his home is now my 'adopted home.' Before moving here I visited Jamaica as often as possible, staying in tourist towns and remote 'bush country'.
We have a small micro-business, offering tours for people who wish to go "off property" and choose do so in a more personal atmophere, rather than on large tour buses with 30-50 others. We go to all of the customary tourist attraction spots, and also offer some destinations you will not find offered through the hotels or large tour companies.
We believe that the people of Jamaica, both adults and children, have much to offer visitors and we strive to involve members of any community we pass through so that you can interact with them directly. Our goal is to have you enjoy your outing..to have fun while learning something new.

Question I was married on the island 11 years ago and have misplaced my marriage certificate. I need another copy ASAP in order to get a US Passport. I've tried emailing and calling the registrars office and no one has been able to help me. I've even tried calling the resort which we were married at (Breezes). I found the online request form but I do not remember the ministers name.
Answer Greetings Melisza,
Welcome to the bewildering world of Jamaican bureaucracy! It's not easy, and often close to impossible to go through all the different channels here with the needed information to replace marriage certificates, when dealing with it from abroad. The money spent in phone calls that go nowhere, the frustration level getting the correct information, the submission of forms and other email information that in the end result in nothing......it can all become overwhelming at best.
You need to use the services of someone in the industry who deals with this all the time and can make the calls, track down the document, handle the shipping to you. The best person to do this is Isabelle Stewart. She is a Wedding Coordinator but also specializes in document translations and recovery.
Please contact her so she can begin immediately to gather the proper information from you in order to help. There will be nominal fee for her time, phone calls, mailing fee and any other monies needed by the different Departments of Ministry so as to have your Marriage Certificate replaced as soon as possible for you.
