AboutSienna Expertise I live on the west coast of the island, in the sugar cane valley of Westmoreland parish, just outside the beach resort town of Negril, and will be happy to assist with questions that would cover the areas of the west and southwest coasts....areas such as Negril, Whitehouse, Treasure Beach.
I can help withquestions pertaining to Jamaican culture, food, places of interest, your general hotel location in regards to activities or excursions in your area, whether you're in a villa, resort, or small independent hotel.
I am however, NOT a travel agent, and cannot be of help making reservations at any all-inclusive properties.
Experience I moved here from California nine years ago, to live here with my husband, a Jamaican....his home is now my 'adopted home.' Before moving here I visited Jamaica as often as possible, staying in tourist towns and remote 'bush country'.
We have a small micro-business, offering tours for people who wish to go "off property" and choose do so in a more personal atmophere, rather than on large tour buses with 30-50 others. We go to all of the customary tourist attraction spots, and also offer some destinations you will not find offered through the hotels or large tour companies.
We believe that the people of Jamaica, both adults and children, have much to offer visitors and we strive to involve members of any community we pass through so that you can interact with them directly. Our goal is to have you enjoy your outing..to have fun while learning something new.

Question Hello, Sienna. My husband, myself, and our 13 year old daughter will be visiting Negril next week for the first time. We are staying at the Riu and were wondering if you can recommend anything specific (attractions, sightseeing, etc.) for us to do while we are there. Thanks for your help. Liz
Answer Greetings Liz!
Negril is the perfect vacation spot for people who love water, water sports, and meeting new people...both visitors and the Jamaicans who live and work here. You'll have access to water falls, river walks, horseback riding, river rides, canopy zip line rides.....there is much to discover, will be dependent on how much time you want to spend traveling, and could/should be based on your personal preferences for learning experiences when visiting new lands and cultures.
There are three ways to tour here...booking set trips through your hotel tour desk, according to what is scheduled for the week and traveling by medium-large coach buses with many people from your resort...or you can book a private tour with just the three of you, customized to your own interests...or, with a little advance planning perhaps sharing a ride with others to a destination already booked. It will depend on your personal travel preferences and styles.
If you have a bit of time, and want to send me an email, I can give you more details about different trips and the general time frame (half day or less, full day), some photo links, some website links to browse. It would also be a help to know your arrival and departure days because that would give me an idea of how many days would be options for going out to explore and what attractions might be closed during that time, if any....which tours or attractions you'll see advertized that in the long run might not be worth the time and expense...again, it would be based on what it is you enjoy doing/learning about as a family or independently yet combining together to make a fluid and fun day.
The weather is warm, the sea turquoise and calm...fresh fruits are abundant...you've picked a good time of year for your visit!
