Jamaica - all inclusive family vacation in Jamaica

Question
I am looking to travel to Jamaica for Christmas 12/24-12/29 with my husband adnd my 17 and 19 year old sons.  We want to obviously be on the beach, all inclusive, and alot of activities for the boys. I keep looking on line and the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort comes up alot.  My cousin who is a travel agent recommended it al well because of the price, I want to spend under $5,000 and I think that was 4,200 with air and everything.  I read some reviews and am hesitant about it.  Can you help me out with this?  I know I am asking for alot on a small budget, but we have never been to the Caribean before and I want to have a great experience.  PS how is the weather in Jamaica in late December?  Looking forward to hearing from you.

Answer
Hi Cynthia,

Thank you for your email. Let me start by asking if your cousin has ever been to this resort. I ask because I have stayed there for business and can tell you that it really is what I would consider a 2 star resort. Its not a resort that I would send my clients to. As basic as you can get. Cheap is not always the best way to go. And if you haven't been to the Caribbean before, this is probably not a resort that will give you a true Caribbean experience. Of course everyone has their own opinions, but I have traveled the Caribbean extensively over the past 15 years and can give you pros and cons for locations and resorts. I always want to take into consideration my clients criteria for a wonderful trip. But, this one just isn't a resort that I personally would recommend. Christmas is extremely expensive in the Caribbean, as I'm sure you've seen in your searches. But, you have to be very careful. If its seems too good to be true, it probably is.

There are deals to be had and I would be happy to work with you to find a lovely vacation for you and your family.

Feel free to contact me directly should you need assistance with reservations.

Thank you,
