Question
I was wondering if you had any info on the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort in Jamaica.  I am going there in april and would love any info or tips about the place.  Also if you have any info on the airport in Montego Bay, it will be my first time in Jamaica and want to make sure I know everything i need to know.
Thanks so much

Answer
Hi Kristin:

The Holiday Inn SunSpree is a moderate, family style resort set on a ½ mile white sand beach. The resort is 15 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes to downtown Mo' Bay. A little shopping plaza is across the street so you'll be able to find souvenirs there, some duty free shops, etc.

The lagoon-style pool area has a gently sloping shore-like entrance,  a sports  area for basketball, volleyball,  and a stage for nightly entertainment. The secluded "adult-only" pool area with whirlpool and swim-up bar is a great place to relax away from all the activity.

Kids 12 and under stay and eat free when staying in parent's room. A KidsSpree Vacation Club activity program is thrown in for free, Granny's Nursery babysitting is offered for kids up to age 2, and a range of different programs are available for ages 3 to 17.

As for the airport, it's a small airport such as you would find in a small city. There's likely to be some construction going on but other than that, it'll be very easy to find your way around. You'll be greeted by a group of folk singers as you enter the immigration area. You'll go through immigration where you'll present your passport (recommended) or other proof of citizenship. Directly in front of the immigration area (after you go through immigration), there'll be a Bureau de Change wher you can change some money into local currency (not necessary, but you can if you'd like). US dollars are widely accepted. Also i this area, there may be a Jamaica Tourist Board booth offering complimentary rum punch (can't remember if it's still there).

You'll then you'll go down one flight of stairs to baggage claim. Once you've retrieved your bags you'll clear customs. If you're not bringing any gifts, you'll want to look for the green line (Nothing to Declare). And you're done. Just outside the customs area are booths for the car rental companies, hotels and transportation companies. Most resorts or tour operators provide ground transfers to your resort (included in your package). If this is the case with you, you'll locate the ground transportation or hotel company named on your itinerary and they'll put you on a small air-conditioned bus for transfers to your resort.

Have a great time!
