Question My 9-year-old son is a spy nut and knows of James Bond. I would like to rent one of the videos for him but want one that won't scare him to death. I don't mind sexual innuendo and chase scenes, but I'd like to minimize the blood and guts and overt violence. Any thoughts?
Answer Hi Henry. Well, your question is quite difficult because all Bond movies are violent at certain points. Overall, though, I personally do not see any 007 movies that are TOO violent or gory. But to choose the least violent movie, I guess you could go back to the very first one, "Dr. No" (1962), which is a very good movie that does not rely on tons of action stunts and violence. Also, "Goldfinger" (1964) is another choice, and in this movie there is a few killings but most of them are shown offscreen. However, I'm guessing your son may not get into the Connery 007 movies because they are quite old. So of more recent Bond movies, I would reccommend "The Living Daylights" (1987) and also "Goldeneye" (1995), in which (at least in my opinion) the action and violence is limited. Hope this helps.
