Answer Hey, sorry this took so long to get back to you. I was in Texas for the past few days and away from computers. To answer your question, yes it is the same character in both movies. His name is Blofeld, and one of the running gags through the series is the reappearance of him as a villain. Apparently every time Bond thinks he has killed him he doesn't really die and shows up again. Actually, though, Blofeld hasn't been in any 007 movies for a long time--I think the last time he was in one was 'For Your Eyes Only' as you pointed out. Blofeld is head of S.P.E.C.T.R.E--Special Executive for Counterintelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion.
