About Chris Lawmon
Expertise
James Bond. I think I can answer almost any James Bond related question. Be it about the films or the books. Characters or actors. I`ve got all of the films (DVD and Video), all of the novels (Fleming, Markham, Wood, Gardner or Benson) and a whole host of referance material. Give me a try.

Experience
I've been watching and collecting Bond material for a good 20 years or so.

Question
If Sean Connery was so sick of playing James Bond back in the 60's, why did he feel he needed to do a remake in 1983 that had nothing to do with the Cubby Broccoli series and didn't even feature the famous John Barry theme?  This is similar to Harrison Ford doing a remake of Temple of Doom without Spielberg, John Williams or George Lucas's participation.

Answer
Hi (again) Augusto,

That is an interesting question. I think only Sean himself really knows, but it is said that it was his wife, Micheline, who prompted Sean to really think about playing the role again.
Apparently it was her that coined the ironic title 'Never Say Never Again' too.
Maybe it was the $3 million fee, or maybe it was a bit of revenge against Cubby, who had fought all the way to get the film banned.

Whatever the exact reason was, personally I wish he hadn't!

Thank you for your question.

Chris.
