Question
Why don't Japaneses take long holidays? Are they just live to do a work?are they really workaholics?

Answer
Hi Tibet,

Japanese people are not workaholics, they have a very high work ethic and tend to follow the group.

They actually have over 20 national holidays which most companies honor.  It is usually the foreign companies which work on these days.

They generally only take 7 to 9 days off work so they don't inconvenience their coworkers.

Most overtime is just caused by poor management.  In Japan and elsewhere.

Good luck,

Donald Nordeng
