Japan - wanting cheap accom near meiji shrine toyko

Robert, A friend of ours is getting married at the meiji shrine at the end of march 09 and iam desperately trying to find cheap traditional accommodation that is nearby or close to central Tokyo i suppose?? Have no idea of where to begin looking. Have done some research and the Japanese style inns ( ryokan) seem to be the kind of route we would like to go? My partner and i will be travelling so we need to keep to a cheaper budget, i would greatly appreciate your advise or pointing me in the right direction!! Thank you Stephanie lane
