Question Raw tuna in the form of sashimi is one of the most delicious foods in the World. It's almost sublimely good. On the other hand tinned tuna is one of the most disgusting foods. The smell is enough to make me feel nauseous at several yards. What is that all about? Is it the same part of the fish which is used for both? If so, what on earth is done to the fish to debase it so badly? Is there any chance of it being made a crime to destroy tuna in this way!?
Answer Try StarKist tuna.
some tuna are canned in water and some in oil.
The tinned tuna you have might be that way because its a non-oily fish, and when can, it packs everything inside even the smell.
Think of it like this if you like, rotten food in a sealed container, the odors build up, and when you open up the container, all those bad smells come up, and they are so strong, you could throw up.
To me, StarKist tuna doesn't smell. I sometimes use it to make tuna and macaroni or tuna salad sandwiches.
Now if it is of another time of tuna, then i can't really answer you, since i don't really each much fish except for tuna. Just don't eat to much tuna, because i hear tuna contains mercury, and to much tuna, may or may not be considered a deadly dose or at least somewhat poisonous.
