About Mark Christie Expertise I can answer questions about Japanese language (written, spoken, history) and about Japan as a whole - the culture, history (in specific the period from 1600 to present day), and geography. But my main expertise is in the Language itself; the grammar, kanji learning, JLPT in the UK, and Kansai-ben (the Kansai dialect).
Experience I've studied the Japanese language for about 5 or 6 years, along with the culture and history for two years at university level.
Education/Credentials Studied Japanese language and history at University, self-taught myself before that.
Question hello. We had a japanese song as our first dance-we really like it even though we have never known what the lyrics mean. We have the japanese phonetic translation:first verse
omedetou kara arigatou made iwae kon-ya wa
kariyushi no yoru tsuki no shita de
tsumetai ame ni naita ano hi ga ima wa natsukashi
kariyushi no yoru utai akasou yo
surii yo harii yo utaou yo
iyasasa iyasasa tiiri shitaari
kariyushi no yoru yo
Could someone very kindly translate into english for us- we hope it says something nice :)
many thanks
Claire
Answer Hi Claire, thanks for the question.
I have a rough idea (and it's pretty rough just now) at what this song's about. But,there are a few words I'm not sure of that you wrote in your question. Is it possible to give me the name of the song? That way I can have a listen to it and 'fill in the blanks'.
