Japanese Language/Question

Question
Hello. I am learning Japanese by myself with Minna No Nihongo. I was doing one exercise and the following doubt appeared.

I am not sure if this sentence is correct: タワポンさあんはもアメリカ人です。
The book says タワポンさあんもアメリカ人です

I ask because it is supposed to be placing the wa particle after the subject we are talking about, in this case タワポンさあん

Please correct if I am wrong and tell me why.
Thank you.

Answer
Hello Guillermo,

The correct sentence is "タワポンさんもアメリカ人です。" (BTW,さあん is not correct. It should be さん)

It means "Kuwapon-san is American too". In this case, "MO/も" is the particle (it means "too" or "also") so placing another particle like "WA/は" in this sentence makes it incorrect. Your sentence contains two particles "WA/は" and "MO/も" so it is wrong.

I hope this is clear but please let me know if you have more questions.

Thank you for asking!

Regards,
