Question
I saw a very particular thing on tv. A guy had taken a photo of a clothing store with the name "Ful Fru". I means "ugly wife" in Swedish but what would it mean in Japanese?

Answer
Hi Andrew,

I wasn't aware of the brand "Ful Fru" so I researched it online and I found out something below.

"Ful" and "Fru" are the first three words for the store concept which is "Ful l of Fru its".

I'm not sure if someone who named this was aware of the meaning of "Ful Fru" in Swedish or not but it is very interesting. I don't think it is really a good name for a woman's underwear brand...

Thank you for asking!

Best regards,

Japanese Language
