Question
Could you give me the phonetic translation of 'New baby boy' in Japanese?
And is the phonetic translation of 'New baby girl' Katma? and is that pronounced 'cat ma'?
Also, is Rico a female Japanese name?
Thank you!

Answer
Hi,

Usually we would say "Akachan" (Ah-ka-cha-n) and "Shinseiji" (She-n-say-ji) for boys.

As for the name Rico, no there is no Japanese name of that spelling, although I'm assuming your intention was 'Riko' which is indeed a female name. Among the most popular kanji for that name, would be:

浬子, 季虹, 浬呼

I hope that helps! : )

-Ayu
