About kenji Toelken
Expertise
I will do my best to answer questions regarding chassis electrical, suspension, car audio, parts fabrication, engine and drive train. I don't claim to know everything there is to know about mechanics, hopefully through this experience I can learn some stuff from all of you as well.

Experience
I have been involved in auto mechanics and restoration for 30 years. I have owned and restored about 50 cars ranging from Peugeot to Hillman. I have recently built 2 CJ-5's from the ground up, fabricated parts for both and currently own a Cherokee XJ in progress.

Question
The fan switch on my 1996 jeep Cherokee has broken.  I can't turn it up or down anymore.  It's stuck on low, but other than heat/ac works fine.  Any advise for fixing this?  Do I have to take of the entire dash board to get in there or is there a partial panel that I am not seeing?

Thanks!

Answer
Hey Scott,

On your 96 you will need to remove the instrument panel bezel. Disconnect the negative battery cable, remove two screws above the spedo, the rest of the bezel snap fits. Remove the radio then the four mounting screws on the AC/ Heater control panel. There should be just enough slack in the cables to R&R the switch without disconnecting them. If you want a little more room to work you can disconnect the cables.

Hope this helps,

Kenji
