Jeep Repair - engine light on

Expert: Nathan - 4/12/2007

Question
I just recently bought a 2002 jeep liberty sport with 78000 kms and it has been continuously back in to the dealership. The service engine light comes on ..we take it to the dealership one time they said it was low voltage in the battery..then second time it had something to do with the thermostat..brought it home drove it the next day ..the day after that...engine light came on again...do you have any ideas...just wondering if the dealership is giving us the run around until our warranty is up ...its getting very frustrating!!  Please any info would be great

Answer
Take this vehicle to a private shop and have them diagnose the problem.  A private shop will be more honest to you.  When you get their opinion and go back to the dealership with the new information you have.  I have seen the low battery voltage code only one time, and the thermostat code, who knows, the thermostat is mechanical not electrical.  Hope I could help you!
