AboutBrenda Martin Expertise I have been one of Jehovah`s Witneses now for over 30 years, in those years I have brought up 4 children, teaching each of them the bible.Being one of Jehovah`s Witnesses has helped me cope with my Epilepsy and bring up a daughter with learning difficulties.I have conducted bible studies with people from nearly every denomination i.e. Muslim. Having used the bible all these years to answer peoples questions, I feel I am qualified to give any answer regarding Jehovah`s Witnesses and the bible.
Experience My experience has been one of attending bible lectures 5 times a week,taking part in these lectures in front of an audience and being with thousands of J.W. at conventions where I have seen the bible at work in peoples lives.It is truly a miracle when you see thousands of people meeting together and not one policeman needed, and not even a piece of litter in sight.It is like another world.
Question I am not a religious man, but as a long time historical researcher into world events and human society, my question to you is: In relation to the Bible, do you feel that with all these events taking place (i.e. immanent world Economic collapse, Wars, Corruption in govt. and loss of human decency) Do you feel we may be quite close to something drastic taking place on the world scene? After nearly 20 years of research, i sense the pressure on our world seems to be coming from all directions now( more than ever before) it seems to be accelerating as the years pass. The general public seems to be in one of 2 dispositions, extreme apathy complete denial to what is happening. This really bothers me. It seems that the controllers of this world are trying to take the entire planet in a certain direction.

The magazine that Jehovah’s witnesses print has this to say—“The Watchtower, has passed on Jesus’ encouragement to “keep on the watch.” How? As stated on page 2 of this magazine, “It keeps watch on world events as these fulfil Bible prophecy. It comforts all peoples with the good news that God’s Kingdom will soon destroy those who oppress their fellowmen and that it will turn the earth into a paradise.”
With a worldwide circulation of more than 26,000,000 copies in 150 languages, The Watchtower is the most widely distributed religious magazine in the world. By means of it, Jehovah’s Witnesses, like the ancient gatekeepers, are urging people everywhere to “keep awake” spiritually because the Master, Jesus Christ, is about to return and execute judgment on this system of things.—Mark 13:26, 37.
Without a doubt we are on the brink of something “drastic”; brought about by the Creator himself.

It certainly is “accelerating”— The Scriptures show us that Satan the Devil is the root cause of man’s problems. Not only is he the cause but he has been a continuous perpetuator of wickedness, INTENSIFYING HIS EFFORTS in these “last days.”
Historian Edmond Taylor expresses something that many historians agree on: “The outbreak of World War I ushered in a twentieth-century ‘Time of Troubles’ . . . Directly or indirectly all the convulsions of the last half century stem back to 1914.”
Today mankind faces events of a magnitude never previously experienced. Foretelling this about our day, Jesus warned his followers: “There will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again. In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.”—Matthew 24:21, 22.
Unseen to human eyes, heavenly forces are now holding back that great tribulation. You can avail yourself of the faith-building and life-giving knowledge of God by examining what the Bible really teaches about events of our day and the bright future promised in the Bible.
We urge everyone to avail themselves of the free Bible study program that Jehovah’s Witnesses offer in their community. This is a way to allay fear and find true hope in a world full of distress.

Yes, but we are not surprised at this, because Satan, knowing that his time is short, is bringing to bear the pressures of nationalism, fear of man, materialism, apostasy, bitterness, apathy and rebellion. These are difficult times, hard to deal with.—Rev. 12:12; 2 Tim. 3:1-5.
Satan has surely proved adept at blinding human minds. As Jehovah’s Witnesses, we help people who are being deceived by Satan and the wisdom of this world. (1 Cor. 1:20; 3:19) We understand why many do not believe in the Bible’s promises. They simply do not know Jehovah.
The Bible foretold: “In the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God.” (2 Tim. 3:1-5)

Ah now, interesting statement; “controllers of this world” you are absolutely correct, the controller of this world is trying to take mankind in the wrong direction—
The Bible clearly states that the rebellious angel Satan is the original “manslayer” and “liar” and that “the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” (John 8:44; 1 John 5:19) The apostle Paul identifies him as “the god of this system of things.” (2 Corinthians 4:3, 4) Being a hater of righteousness, Satan does everything possible to promote wickedness. As long as he controls the world, injustices of all sorts and their resultant woes will enslave mankind.
No wonder the apostle Paul wrote: “We have a wrestling, not against blood and flesh, but against the governments, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12) Even today, demonic forces under the control of Satan the Devil are behind the scenes, exercising influence on human rulers and on mankind in general, prompting them to commit unspeakable acts of genocide, terrorism, and murder.
“For his part, the God who gives peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.” (Romans 16:20) The long-awaited time for peace is finally at hand.
