About Brenda Martin
Expertise I have been one of Jehovah`s Witneses now for over 30 years, in those years I have brought up 4 children, teaching each of them the bible.Being one of Jehovah`s Witnesses has helped me cope with my Epilepsy and bring up a daughter with learning difficulties.I have conducted bible studies with people from nearly every denomination i.e. Muslim. Having used the bible all these years to answer peoples questions, I feel I am qualified to give any answer regarding Jehovah`s Witnesses and the bible.
Experience My experience has been one of attending bible lectures 5 times a week, taking part in these lectures in front of an audience and being with thousands of J.W. at conventions where I have seen the bible at work in peoples lives. It is truly a miracle when you see thousands of people meeting together and not one policeman needed, and not even a piece of litter in sight. It is like another world.

Question QUESTION: Rev 1:8 I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and is to come, The Almighty. Is this not God speaking.
Rev 21:5-7 He who sits on the throne said, "I am making every thing new." .......I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.......Again is this not God
Rev 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. I think this is God also
Rev 1:17-18 and Rev 2:8 It says and when I saw Him, I fell ate His feet as thought dead. Then He placed His right hand on me and said: "Do not be afraid. I am the First and he Last". I am the living one; I WAS DEAD, and behold I am alive for ever and for ever . And I hold the keys of death and hades.
[V2:8] " And the angel of the congregation in Smyrna write: These are the things that he says "The first and the last, who became dead and came to life [again]
I do not understand when did God die.
ANSWER: HI Lawrence, you asked--“REV 1:8 IS THIS NOT GOD SPEAKING ?
Yes--This is the first of three times in Revelation that Jehovah himself speaks from heaven. (See also Revelation 21:5-8; 22:12-15.)
REV 1:17-18 AND REV 2:8 I WAS DEAD, I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHEN DID GOD DIE?
The first verse of Revelation shows that the revelation was given originally by God and through Jesus Christ, hence the one speaking (through an angelic representative) at times is God himself, and at other times it is Christ Jesus.
When Jesus presents himself by the title “the First and the Last,” he is using a title properly bestowed on him by God. Jesus is calling attention to his unique resurrection.
Jesus was indeed “the First” human to be resurrected to immortal spirit life. (Colossians 1:18) Moreover, he is “the Last” to be so resurrected by Jehovah personally. Thus, he becomes “the living one . . . living forever and ever.” He enjoys immortality. In this, he is like his immortal Father, who is called “the living God.” (Revelation 7:2; Psalm 42:2) For all others of humanity, Jesus himself is “the resurrection and the life.” (John 11:25) In harmony with this, he says to John: “I became dead, but, look! I am living forever and ever, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.” (Revelation 1:18b) Jehovah has given him the authority to resurrect the dead. That is why Jesus can say that he has the keys to unlock the gates for those bound by death and Hades (gravedom).— ” Matthew 16:18
Revelation 2:8) Jesus reminds them that he was the first integrity keeper that Jehovah directly resurrected to immortal spirit life and the last to be so raised.
God didn’t die, but Jesus did :¬)

QUESTION: In Isa 40:3 It says prepare the way Of the Lord; Make straight the desert a highway for our God [Ref: Mal 3:1; Mt 3:3; Mk 1:1-9;Lk 3:4-6; Jn 1:23-26]
The hebrew word "Lord" in this verse is the one from which "Jehovah" is derived, and translated "Jehovah" in the N.W.T. the word Lord is 3068 in the sronges concordance which says " The proper name of the one true God [Lord Yahweh]
From the Ref above this verse is commonly accepted prophecy of the Lord Jesus Christ, as announced by Jophn the Baptist.
Here is my question in the N.W.T. You state that this is Jehovah. But looking at Mk 1: 1-9 {V1} The good news about JESUS CHRIST {2} written in Isa {3} Make the way for Jehovah Verse one states that this is the good news about Jesus {4} repentance {5}baptized {6} John dress {7} not fit to stoop and untie His sandals {8} baptise with fire {9} address as Jesus
In verse 3 you call Him Jehovah and in verse 9 you call him Jesus
Which one is He
ANSWER: ISA 40:3 “ PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD?
John 1:23 quotes Isaiah 40:3 and applies it to what John the Baptizer did in preparing the way for Jesus Christ, Isaiah 40:3 is clearly discussing preparing the way before Jehovah. Why? Because Jesus represented his Father. He came in his Father’s name and had the assurance that his Father was always with him because he did the things pleasing to his Father.—John 5:43; 8:29.
MK 1: 1-9 --IN VERSE 3 YOU CALL HIM JEHOVAH AND IN VERSE 9 YOU CALL HIM JESUS
Same reason-- Because Jesus represented his Father. He came in his Father’s name.
Thanks

QUESTION: I am confused If Jesus is the arch angel Michael. Why in Dan 10:13 he is called one of the chief princes and in Jn 3:16 God's one and only, is monogenes meaning unigue. And in the Heb 1:5 it states For example which one of the angels did he ever say you are my son; I today have become your father, and he himself will be come my son taken from Ps 2:7. And also in Heb 1:13 it says But with reference to which one of the angels has he ever said" sit on my right hand till I make your enemies as a stool for your feet.
Michael has no authority to rebuke the devil [Jude 9] in contrast the Lord rebuke the devil many times.
Thank you for your time cause I do not understand this.

Answer ISA 40:3
Isaiah 40:3 is discussing preparing the way before Jehovah;-apostate inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem are taken into exile to Babylon in 607 B.C.E. But those Jewish captives will not serve the Babylonians forever. No, their servitude will last only until their error is “paid off.” How long will that be? According to Jeremiah the prophet, 70 years. (Jeremiah 25:11, 12) After that, Jehovah will lead a repentant remnant from Babylon back to Jerusalem. In the 70th year of Judah’s desolation, what a comfort it will be for the captives to realize that the time for their promised deliverance is at hand!—Daniel 9:1, 2.
The journey from Babylon to Jerusalem is 500 to 1,000 miles [800 to 1,600 km], depending upon the route taken. Will the long trip impede the fulfillment of God’s promise? By no means! Isaiah writes in 40:3-5.
Before embarking on a journey, Eastern rulers would often send out men to prepare the way by removing big stones and even building causeways and leveling hills. In the case of the returning Jews, it will be as if God himself is in the forefront, clearing away any obstacles. After all, these are Jehovah’s name people, and fulfilling his promise to restore them to their homeland will cause his glory to be manifest before all the nations. Like it or not, those nations will be forced to see that Jehovah is the Fulfiller of his promises.
The restoration in the sixth century B.C.E. was not the only fulfillment of this prophecy. There was also a fulfillment in the first century C.E. John the Baptizer was the voice of someone “crying out in the wilderness,” in fulfillment of Isaiah 40:3. (Luke 3:1-6) Under inspiration, John applied Isaiah’s words to himself. (John 1:19-23) Starting in 29 C.E., John began preparing the way for Jesus Christ. John’s advance proclamation aroused people to look for the promised Messiah so that they, in turn, might listen to him and follow him. (Luke 1:13-17, 76) Through Jesus, Jehovah would lead repentant ones into the freedom that only God’s Kingdom can provide—liberation from bondage to sin and death. (John 1:29; 8:32)
DAN 10:13
The title “archangel” means “chief of the angels
The glorious spirit person who bears the name Michael is referred to as “one of the chief princes,” “the great prince who has charge of your [Daniel’s] people,” and as “the archangel.” (Dan. 10:13; 12:1; Jude 9,) Michael means “Who Is Like God?” The name evidently designates Michael as the one who takes the lead in upholding Jehovah’s sovereignty and destroying God’s enemies.
Jesus has many names in the scriptures these are only 2 of them.
JON 3:16
Jesus is rightly called “the only-begotten Son of God.” (John 3:16, 18) The Greek word translated “only-begotten” has been defined as “single of its kind, only,” “the only member of a kin or kind,” or “unique.”
Jesus is unique in that he is the sole direct creation of his Father. He is the firstborn Son. In fact, he is “the firstborn of all creation.” (Col. 1:15) He is “the beginning of the creation by God.” (Rev. 3:14) The only-begotten Son’s role in creation is also unique. He was not the Creator, or Originator, of creation. But Jehovah used him as the agent, or means, to create all other things. (Read John 1:3.) The apostle Paul wrote: “There is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are, and we through him.”—1 Cor. 8:6.
HEB 1:5
Paul wrote to those faithful ones in Jerusalem, and answered many charges that were made against first-century Christianity by its enemies.
Taking the very claims of the Jews, Paul shows the superiority of the Christian system and its priesthood when compared with Judaism. It was important for him to do this. Those Christians in Jerusalem were, no doubt, for the most part of Jewish birth. They were well acquainted with the law of Moses and the arguments of the Jewish leaders. For that reason Paul had the obligation to show them the counterarguments, the truth of matters and to expose the falsity of the charges laid against them by the Jewish religious leaders.
For example, it was true that the law of Moses had been transmitted through angels. But how do angels compare with the Lord Jesus? Here is what Paul wrote at Hebrews 1:4-6: “So he [Jesus] has become better than the angels, to the extent that he has inherited a name more excellent than theirs. For example, to which one of the angels did he ever say: ‘You are my son; I, today, I have become your father’? And again: ‘I myself shall become his father, and he himself will become my son’? But when he again brings his Firstborn into the inhabited earth, he says: ‘And let all God’s angels do obeisance to him.’” Really, then, Paul points out, angels are servants, but Jesus is the Son of God.
HEB 1:13
No creature could get any higher than to the “right hand of God,” and the “superior position” to which God exalted him was to that right-hand position. (Psalm 110:1; Acts 2:34-36; Hebrews 1:3, 13; 8:1, 2; 10:12, 13; 12:2) This put the Lamb Jesus Christ in the capital position over all the rest of God’s creation.
JUDE 9
Michael, who at the time he was disputing with Satan had NOT YET had “all the judging” committed to him, felt that such a judgment should come only from Jehovah God. (John 5:22) As archangel, Michael had extensive authority. Yet, he humbly deferred to Jehovah rather than trying to seize additional authority.
