About Brenda Martin
Expertise I have been one of Jehovah`s Witneses now for over 30 years, in those years I have brought up 4 children, teaching each of them the bible.Being one of Jehovah`s Witnesses has helped me cope with my Epilepsy and bring up a daughter with learning difficulties.I have conducted bible studies with people from nearly every denomination i.e. Muslim. Having used the bible all these years to answer peoples questions, I feel I am qualified to give any answer regarding Jehovah`s Witnesses and the bible.
Experience My experience has been one of attending bible lectures 5 times a week, taking part in these lectures in front of an audience and being with thousands of J.W. at conventions where I have seen the bible at work in peoples lives. It is truly a miracle when you see thousands of people meeting together and not one policeman needed, and not even a piece of litter in sight. It is like another world.

i understand & it makes sense to me that it is the anointed brothers as a group from 33ce, & that as a whole they fed spiritual the brothers & sister's of that time. tho each one may of had different parts to play as a "body of brothers "
that said i have never heard a talk from the platform or read anything from brother Russel that he was part of this "faithful & discreet slave class" that had been active from 33ce down to his time or that he had been feed spiritual truth's from any other spirit anointed Christian organization that he was affiliated with.
please could you tell me who theses ones were & where i can look up more about them.
also i understand that it is the writing department that produce the "spiritual food" books & magazines are they part of the "faithful & discreet slave" that Jesus spoke about? all anointed Christians!?....thank you for your time..... your brother!
Answer "COULD YOU HELP ME A LITTLE TO UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF THE "FAITHFUL & DISCREET SLAVE"
We accept the teaching that all of the anointed ones living on earth at any given time constitute “the faithful and discreet slave” that Jesus said would provide timely “food” for his domestics. (Matthew 24:45)
What Bible texts prove that this understanding is correct?
On Nisan 11 of the year 33 C.E., Jesus told the leaders of Israel that God had rejected their nation from being His servant. He said: “The kingdom of God will be taken from you and be given to a nation producing its fruits.” Jesus said to the crowds: “Look! Your house is abandoned to you.” (Matthew 21:43; 23:38) As Jehovah’s slave, the house of Israel was neither faithful nor discreet. (Isaiah 29:13, 14)
Later that same day, when Jesus asked: “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave?” he was in effect asking, ‘What discreet nation will replace Israel to be God’s faithful slave?’ The apostle Peter gave the answer when he told the congregation of anointed Christians: “You are . . . ‘a holy nation, a people for special possession.’” (1 Peter 1:4; 2:9) That spiritual nation, “the Israel of God,” became Jehovah’s new slave. (Galatians 6:16) Just as all members of ancient Israel formed one “servant,” so also all anointed Christians on earth at any one time form one “faithful and discreet slave.”
"I HAVE NEVER HEARD A TALK FROM THE PLATFORM OR READ ANYTHING FROM BROTHER RUSSEL THAT HE WAS PART OF THIS "FAITHFUL & DISCREET SLAVE CLASS" THAT HAD BEEN ACTIVE FROM 33CE DOWN TO HIS TIME".
There can be no doubt that Jehovah’s holy spirit was directing the endeavours of Brother Russell and those associated with him. They gave evidence of being identified with the faithful and discreet slave. Though many clergymen of the time professed to believe that the Bible was God’s inspired Word and that Jesus was the Son of God, they subscribed to false, Babylonish doctrines, such as the Trinity, the immortality of the human soul, and eternal torment.
In keeping with Jesus’ promise, it truly was due to the holy spirit that the humble efforts of Brother Russell and his associates caused truth to shine forth as never before. (John 16:13) Those anointed Bible Students gave proof that they were indeed part of the faithful and discreet slave class, whose commission it is to provide spiritual food for the Master’s domestics. Their efforts were a great aid in the gathering of the anointed ones.
At Pentecost 33 C.E., the first Jewish disciples of Jesus were anointed with holy spirit to be joint heirs with Christ. In the year 36 C.E., the operation of God’s spirit made it clear that uncircumcised Gentiles would also share in that inheritance. (Acts 15:7-9; Eph. 3:5, 6) Another 60 years passed before it was revealed to the apostle John that only 144,000 would be taken from earth to share the heavenly Kingdom with Christ.—Rev. 7:4-8; 14:1-3.
Charles Taze Russell and his associates shared that hope, as did most of Jehovah’s Witnesses down till the mid-1930’s.
"THE WRITING DEPARTMENT THAT PRODUCE THE "SPIRITUAL FOOD" BOOKS & MAGAZINES ARE THEY PART OF THE "FAITHFUL & DISCREET SLAVE" THAT JESUS SPOKE ABOUT? ALL ANOINTED CHRISTIANS?"
1. As a spirit-anointed Christian, Brother Barry had been invited to serve as a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses. (Romans 8:16, 17) His writing experience proved very useful in his new role in the Writing Department. And his extensive branch and international experience equipped him to make a valuable contribution as a member of the Publishing Committee of the Governing Body.
2. In 1989 the Translation Services Department was established at the world headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Under the direction of the Writing Committee of the Governing Body, this department set out to speed up Bible translation.
3. The fourth president of the Society, Fred W. Franz, was also a fine example of humility. As vice president of the Society for some 32 years, he did much of the writing for the magazines and for the convention programs; yet in this regard he always kept in the background, never seeking to occupy the spotlight.
4. During his years at Bethel, Brother Sydlik (anointed) served in various departments, including the printery and the Writing Department. He also worked with the radio station WBBR. Then, in November 1974, he was appointed to the Governing Body and eventually worked along with the Personnel and Writing committees.
5. Brother Klein continued to work as a member of the writing staff and to serve on the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Then, on January 3, 2001, at the age of 95, Karl Klein faithfully completed his earthly course. As one of the Lord’s anointed, Brother Klein desired with all his heart to reign with Christ in heaven. We have every reason to believe that Jehovah has now fulfilled that desire.—Luke 22:28-30.
6.The Writing Committee of the Governing Body orchestrates the worldwide translation effort from headquarters in Brooklyn. This includes establishing new translation departments, arranging for the training of translators, answering questions from branches, and providing appropriate tools for research.
So it would appear so yes :¬)
All the best
Brenda
