Jehovah`s Witness/Ssssshhhhh..... DW, I'm the one who questioned Derrick about the heading: "Can You Explain?"

Hello DW,

Now I do know already why derrick were too very arrogant on this SUBJECT(Jesus Resurrection) because, as what I've NOTICED, this seemed to be HIS ONLY "BET" argument(maybe that's why he JOINED here in this FORUM) :-) just read his explanation right here:

Well, I know about (1 Peter 3:18) was in the DATIVE CASE(which he don't want to FIND OUT)His, was some kind of a BIASNESS I know you could knock him off(as always) with his NONSENSE!!!! :-)

I'm looking forward as always

Hello again

You know I don't really read Derricks stuff but for you I'll make an exception OK here we go.

Now the very first argument Derrick makes is on this verse here

Luke 24:

39 "See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself; feel me and see, because a spirit does not have flesh and bones just as YOU behold that I have"

Now you see Derrick misses most of the verse out. Of course a spirit doesn't have hands and feet, but it's an irrelevant point for what Derrick wants to argue because they'd just seen a spirit with hands and feet here.

Luke 4

vs 4 While they were in perplexity over this, look! two men in flashing clothing stood by them"

This was two spirits with hands and feet!! So immediately his argument fails

Would this angel say "No i'm not an angel I have hands and feet"? No of course not.

Would these people say to others "I saw two people at Jesus tomb they can't have been angels because they had hands and feet" No of course not!!

There is also a spirit here with hands and feet and also flesh and bones.

Gen 32:

24 "Finally Jacob was left by himself. Then a man began to grapple with him until the dawn ascended"

This also was an angel or a spirit with hands and feet and flesh and bones.

"Would this angel have said I can't be an angel because I have hands and feet and flesh and bones" Again of course not!!

So Jesus having hands and feet and flesh and bones doesn't prove he wasn't a spirit creature anymore than having hands and feet and flesh and bones proves that these angels weren't spirit creatures.

So now it becomes obvious Jesus means something else. What he means is that he's not an apparition that's why he invites them to touch him. You can't touch an apparition but you can touch a spirit being as we've seen.

"feel me and see"

So immediately Derrick has no argument!! Unless he want's to argue that having hands and flesh and bones prove you're not a spirit being!! If he wants to argue that then he makes himself even more foolish than he is already!!

Now he jumps to 1 peter 3:

18 "Why, even Christ died once for all time concerning sins, a righteous [person] for unrighteous ones, that he might lead YOU to God, he being put to death in the flesh, but being made alive in the spirit"

19 "In this [state] also he went his way and preached to the spirits in prison"

So we have these verses he uses to back up that spirit here suddenly means immortal soul.

So according to Derrick spirit = soul.

Now what he needs to do at this point is now back up his teaching that spirit = soul to make his understanding stick.

So you see Derricks basing his argument on two lines of reasoning

1)Spirit= soul or in biblical language terms he needs to go away and show that pneuma = nephesh

2)Spirits in prison = souls in hellfire.

He now needs to go and back those two things up. Go and ask him!!

Until he does that he's blatantly wrong!! hahahaha

This is what we say

18 "Why, even Christ died once for all time concerning sins, a righteous [person] for unrighteous ones, that he might lead YOU to God, he being put to death in the flesh, but being made alive in the spirit"

We say spirit is opposite to flesh here. Pretty obvious really

19 "In this [state] also he went his way and preached to the spirits in prison"

We also say after Jesus was resurrected he went and delivered a message or preached to wicked spirits. So lets back that up with the Bible.

Let's stay in 2 peter 2:

4 "Certainly if God did not hold back from punishing the angels that sinned, but, by throwing them into Tar′ta·rus, delivered them to pits of dense darkness to be reserved for judgment"

Now we see here just one chapter earlier that wicked spirits are in Tartarus. Tartarus is prison or prison bonds.

6 "And the angels that did not keep their original position but forsook their own proper dwelling place he has reserved with eternal bonds"

We also know Jesus after his resurrection wasn't with the disciples all the time but he was off doing other stuff

Luke 24:

"These are my words which I spoke to YOU while I was yet with YOU"

So we say that Jesus died as a man in the flesh

1 cor 15:

49 "And just as we have borne the image of the one made of dust"..............

And was raised as a heavenly spirit being being

...........we shall bear also the image of the heavenly one"

Now you see Derrick likes to pretend he knows about context but he uses two verses for context here that's it!!

In 1 peter, Peter uses the word spirit/spirits ten times in five chapters. He speaks basically of the opposite of having a good spirit and a bad spirit and that the Christians can become a good spirit like Jesus that's what he's teaching here really.

He's not teaching anything about the immortality of the soul as Derrick say's .Now let Derrick backup his teachings easy enough to say them let him prove them.

Now he goes to 1 cor 15:45 Now I have no idea what he's on about here. His answer is very very vague. But it has to be vague to confuse people and make out he has an answer

From what I read he appears to be saying that Jesus source of life came from heaven but Adam somehow evolved from the earth?? hahahahaha WHAT!!!!!! maybe someone can explain that for me, because that's highly ridiculous. Both spirit life and fleshly life is sourced from heaven so what's he on about, here!!

Then he says Jesus came into the world as a life giving spirit. haahahahaha what's he on about here. He came into the earth as a man not a spirit. hahahahaha. That's so highly ridiculous.I thought Derrick just told everyone he denied being a spirit because he had hands and feet and flesh and bones. Now all of a sudden he's been a spirit all along!!

Notice he actually admits Adam BECAME a soul but earlier in this very same answer tried to teach the immortality of the soul, hahahahhahaha

Derrick Hollands theme tune coming right up.

Then he asks this question

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<Why is the WT even tying this passage in with His resurrection, and causing it to contradict Jesus' own statement about His own body?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

First of all as we see it contradicts nothing!!!

Here's how the scripture reads.

45 "It is even so written: “The first man Adam BECAME a living soul.” The last Adam BECAME a life-giving spirit"

Jesus hade to BECOME a spirit to provide a ransom for Adams soul. Adam's soul had to be bought by Jesus soul that's how he became a life giving spirit. The passage has nothing to do with what Jesus came into the earth as or what he was before he came into the Earth it's all about Jesus death providing life (Heavenly life in this chapter)

So the question is what was he before he BECAME a life giving spirit?? the bible answers that in the next few verses let's focus on these two

48 "As the one made of dust [is], so those made of dust [are] also; and as the heavenly one [is], so those who are heavenly [are] also. 49 And just as we have borne the image of the one made of dust, we shall bear also the image of the heavenly one"

So we see here that the heavenly one is not made of dust which flesh is. No where in scripture is the heavenly one a zombie.

Now what I've also noticed is that Derrick just keeps making irrelevant points about the word spirit as if just because the word spirit is used in other contexts elsewhere it means it has the same meaning everywhere!!

Look I'm not gonna sit here and tell you the word spirit doesn't carry various meanings in scripture , but like everything context determines what it means. You don't just pick and choose when it suits you, like Derrick does!!

Now these scriptures I will briefly address.

<<<<<<<You make the point about Jesus being "made alive in the flesh"...But isn't that what Jesus said Himself, Justin?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

<<<<Isn't that what He said in Luke 24?>>>>>>>>>>>>

No he didn't already addressed he said he wasn't an apparition. That's obvious.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<In John 2?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

No he didn't he said he would raise God's house. Initially represented by Jesus himself and his disciples. He was raised and he then raised them spiritually.

The temple of Jerusalem is not Gods house Jesus and his disciples are

John 2:

16 “Take these things away from here! Stop making the house of my Father a house of merchandise........19 "Break down this temple(house of his father), and in three days I will raise it up"

Col 2:

"by relationship with him YOU were also raised up together through [YOUR] faith in the operation of God, who raised him up from the dead"

Heb 3:

6" We are the house of that One"

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<Isn't that what the angel showed us in Matthew 28:5-6?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

He showed us proof of the resurrection hence why he rolled away the stone. Why roll away the stone when Jesus could walk through walls?? Why roll away the stone then leave a body on view??

It would make the entire account pointless to roll away the stone then leave the body there wouldn't it??

<<<<<<<<<<1.  Could you please explain why the Watchtower Society doesn't believe that Jesus raised in the flesh, even though He said He did?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Because he never said he was raised in the flesh the Bible say's he wasn't here.

(1 Peter 3:

18 "Why, even Christ died once for all time .......... he being put to death in the flesh, but being made alive in the spirit"

1 Cor 15:

45 "The first man Adam became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit"

48 "As the one made of dust [is], so those made of dust [are] also; and as the heavenly one [is], so those who are heavenly [are] also. 49 And just as we have borne the image of the one made of dust, we shall bear also the image of the heavenly one"

The bible say's it here

Matt 26:

26 "TAKE, eat. This means my body"

and here

Matt 20:

28 "and to give his soul a ransom in exchange for many"

There's lots more but is four enough?? I think so!

<<<<<<<2.  If Jesus was a "flesh and bones" body as He said, then how come He is not?>>>>>>>>>

Same reason the other angels that appeared to people are not flesh and bones bodies, because they're all back in heaven now. They certainly materialized bodies for a period of time it's doesn't mean that they keep them!!

OK one more time just for you

Bro DW

I have many years of experience serving Jehovah . I have known Jehovah a long time and I have known his organization . I have been privileged to see great progress not only in my own personal relationship with my God and Father but within his organization. I am an avid reader of the bible and have been gifted by my Father with the indescribable privilege of being allowed to understand his own word.

The truth is all about scripture and logic. The two go hand in hand . There is not one bible verse that cannot be understood within the realms of human reasoning. Not one!! Why would it?? The bible is God's message to his creation . His creation who he made to understand things in a specific way. God is not stupid or unwise as to leave as a message then allow us to guess what it means or who he is. 1 Tim 2:3This is fine and acceptable in the sight of our Savior, God, 4whose will is that all sorts of people should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth" Notice the expression "accurate knowledge".

The bible leaves signs of true christianity there are many. Jehovah's witnesses meet every single sign. One sign is the removal of false teachings that permeated the world soon after the apostles died. Jesus foretold this and he also foretold of the restoration of pure worship in the period known as the last days. The days we are currently living in. Jesus was a master of using illustrations he used an illustration to highlight this point Matt 13: "The Kingdom of the heavens may be likened to a man who sowed fine seed in his field. 25While men were sleeping, his enemy came and oversowed weeds in among the wheat and left. 26When the stalk sprouted and produced fruit, then the weeds also appeared. 27So the slaves of the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow fine seed in your field? How, then, does it have weeds?’ 28He said to them, ‘An enemy, a man, did this.’ The slaves said to him, ‘Do you want us, then, to go out and collect them?’ 29He said, ‘No, for fear that while collecting the weeds, you uproot the wheat with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the harvest season, I will tell the reapers: First collect the weeds and bind them in bundles to burn them up; then gather the wheat into my storehouse" Why did he speak in illustrations? Matt 13:10So the disciples came and said to him: “Why do you speak to them by the use of illustrations?” 11In reply he said: “To you it is granted to understand the sacred secrets of the Kingdom of the heavens, but to them it is not granted" The kingdom of the heavens is full of sacred secrets that Jesus reveals only to his followers. This privilege is open to all who are really willing to submit to God and his Christ in action not just in words. These are the ones God is looking for. Are you really one?? If so I encourage you to let Jehovah's witnesses show you what the Bible really teaches.

False religion is disgusting to God and to his true worshippers it is likened in the Bible to a harlot Rev 17:"I will show you the judgment upon the great harlot who sits on many waters, 2with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, whereas those who inhabit the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication" Whereas the bride of Christ is likened to a virgin Rev 14: 4"These are the ones who did not defile themselves with women; in fact, they are virgins" These are both used as spiritual terms here and show the importance of pure and clean worship for God's people.
