Jehovah`s Witness/A book that has questions to the bible as true

I'm agnostic by nature and came across a book that ask questions which I will pose ,one says """""""""

If Isaac was willing to be a sacrifice why did Abraham have to tie him hand and foot"""""""

Should he just laid down.

Hi Motown,

Simple answer is twofold.

1. That's how sacrificial animals are sacrifice. Isaac symbolizes the lamb to be sacrificed.
2. It's to make sure that the command is followed thru. Common reaction when something sharp hits you is to brush it away as fast as you can. So to prevent that from happening Abraham bound his son Isaac.

But if you go deeper there's a deeper and more important  meaning to the event. That of Jehovah God willingly giving his only begotten son to be sacrificed for the sake of mankind. And that of Jesus willingly giving his life for you and me.

John 3:16 - “For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.”

That's the deeper meaning of Abraham willingly giving his son Isaac and Isaac willingly giving himself.

BTW - may I ask why are you an agnostic?
