Jehovah`s Witness/Body of resurrection

Theres a debate between JWs and other christians about Jesus' resurrection. JWs say that Jesus rose as a spirit.

But in the Bible we read that this corruptible body must wear immortality, implying a resurrection of a perfect body that cant decay. If Jesus is the first of the dead that rose as perfect, then he should have a fleshy body.

I dont know if this was the body he had before his death or another body, but it had to be flesh. If he was risen as a spirit then all people will rise as spirits. Gnostics hate the flesh, so the teaching of spirit resurrection would be closer to their teachings.

Of course we also have Lazarus and some others that rose before Christ, but Lazarus didnt rise as a perfect man so hes not the first of the dead. He was an example.

Hi Christaras,

I believe this topic has been dealt with so many times already so I will not get into it again in detail but will only give this simple answer:

Those who claim that Jesus was resurrected in a fleshly body will be contradicting the scriptures such the one stated here:

“Why, even Christ died once for all time concerning sins, a righteous [person] for unrighteous ones, that he might lead YOU to God, he being put to death in the flesh, but being made alive in the spirit. ” (1 Peter 3:18)

What does it mean by being made alive in the spirit? if Jesus was resurrected in the flesh and blood?

Answer: none otherwise one has to twist the scripture to make it mean something else.
