Question
I won't even comment on the onlytruegod.org site, as that's put out by your organization/supporters. You sent me info on why your bible is authentic from a website friendly to your cause? That's sure to be a totally fair and balanced reading, right?

From Brenton Hepburn:

"I assert that opposes (I imagine he meant opposers?) of the NWT do so purely on theological bias and not on good translation methods."

If I understand that correctly, my answer is that I do NOT oppose your translators based on theological bias. I oppose them based on common sense. It's incredible to believe that any learned person can so easily and readily doubt the translation skills of probably thousands of scholars over 1900 years, and heartily accept the dubious at best, deceitful at worst translation skills of FIVE men with no real education in Hebrew or Greek.

I'll tell you what. I found evidence that your five scholars did not have the credentials necessary to do the extensive undertaking of translating the Holy Scriptures. Now it's your turn. Track down the scholars who worked on some of the Bibles that support the KJV, and disprove their credentials.

Answer
Hi Ron,

What were you expecting? That I send a website that is hostile to us?

Why should I since many that proliferate the internet are all negative towards us? In fact they quote from each other and keep repeating the same thing over and over. Case in point, the case against Brother Franz and Brother Covington that you also quoted.

Unfortunately, since you did not read the contents of the websites that I sent you thus, you'll never know the truth about the cases you presented.

But you say you "oppose the NWT based on common sense" and yet common sense tells us that we in this modern time possess MORE knowledge than those of the past - especially when dealing with linguistic accuracy. Not only that, we have literally thousands of old and newly discovered documents, manuscripts. Documents and  Manuscripts that we can go to as references. We have voluminous copies of manuscripts that we can use to compare words and phrases. We have TECHNOLOGY at our disposal to get to the root and meaning of a particular word - even the most problematic ones. NONE of these were available to the people hundreds or even a thousand years ago. Yet you say you "oppose the NWT based on common sense"? Where's the common sense in that? Why even modern dictionaries needs to be updated once in a while so as to present the proper and correct meaning of a word - otherwise no one will understand it. It's the same with the NWT! and like I said, it's the most accurate and consistent translation out there and will continue to get more and more accurate as we continue to discover newer facts!

Case in point. Here's a verse that has caused confusion to many and still is causing confusion because of POOR translation from many Bibles:

From you favorite 1611 KJB:

Psalme 110:1

[A Psalme of Dauid.] The Lord said vnto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand: vntil I make thine enemies thy footestoole.

Here's how it's rendered in the MAJORITY of Bibles.
New International Version
Of David. A psalm. The LORD says to my lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet."

New Living Translation
A psalm of David. The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet."

Webster's Bible Translation
A Psalm of David. The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thy enemies thy footstool.

Young's Literal Translation
A Psalm of David. The affirmation of Jehovah to my Lord: 'Sit at My right hand, Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.'

Here's how it's rendered in the NWT:

“. . .The utterance of Jehovah to my Lord is: “Sit at my right hand Until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet.”” (Psalm 110:1)

Notice the similarity of the NWT to the following translations:

World English Bible
Yahweh says to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool for your feet."

Darby Bible Translation
{Psalm of David.} Jehovah said unto my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I put thine enemies as footstool of thy feet.

American Standard Version
Jehovah saith unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, Until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

Aramaic Bible in Plain English
Lord Jehovah said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies as a stool for your feet.”

Which translation do you think sheds light to the scriptures and puts the true meaning to it?

Now NOTICED how the SAME verses was NOW changed from the same Bible translations:

American Standard Version
For David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

Douay-Rheims Bible
And David himself saith in the book of Psalms: The Lord said to my Lord, sit thou on my right hand,

Darby Bible Translation
and David himself says in the book of Psalms, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand

English Revised Version

and David himself saith in the Book of Psalms, The Lord said to my lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

Question: WHY all of the sudden the changed?

Care to explain?

Here's how the NWT renders it - consistent throughout!

“For David himself says in the book of Psalms, ‘Jehovah said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand” (Luke 20:42)

So what does your common sense tell you Ron?

Which Bible translation is both ACCURATE and CONSISTENT throughout?

The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures (NWT) - no doubt about it!
