AboutBrenda Martin Expertise I have been one of Jehovah`s Witneses now for over 30 years, in those years I have brought up 4 children, teaching each of them the bible.Being one of Jehovah`s Witnesses has helped me cope with my Epilepsy and bring up a daughter with learning difficulties.I have conducted bible studies with people from nearly every denomination i.e. Muslim. Having used the bible all these years to answer peoples questions, I feel I am qualified to give any answer regarding Jehovah`s Witnesses and the bible.
Experience My experience has been one of attending bible lectures 5 times a week, taking part in these lectures in front of an audience and being with thousands of J.W. at conventions where I have seen the bible at work in peoples lives. It is truly a miracle when you see thousands of people meeting together and not one policeman needed, and not even a piece of litter in sight. It is like another world.
Question Hi Brenda! Hope you are well. I was just wondering about the annointed. (Not that I think I am one!) Are most older people, or are some younger? Most seem to be in the 50 age bracket or more, but my friend knows someone who claims to be annointed but they're only in their twenties. Also, would an annointed brother or sister be encouraging another brother or sister to marry them? knowing they would be forever separated after armageddon?
Can you clear this up for me at all? Thanks very much!
Your Brother Scott.
Answer Hi Scott, you asked--"ARE MOST OLDER PEOPLE, OR ARE SOME YOUNGER?"
Most of the remnant are quite elderly because the collecting of them began many years ago.Ive personally never met a "younger" one.
CLAIMS TO BE ANNOINTED BUT THEY'RE ONLY IN THEIR TWENTIES.
I know a new person can be grafted in to the anointed class, in the event of one falling away.
Watchtower 83--“Provided You Remain in His Kindness”
Just as the parable of the barren fig tree shows there are limits to Jehovah’s patience, Paul’s illustration of the olive tree, while highlighting Jehovah’s kindness, also shows his severity. In his kindness Jehovah had sent John the Baptizer to the Jewish “natural branches” to tell them to “produce fruit that befits repentance” and to believe in Jesus. (Matthew 3:8; Acts 19:4) Because of their lack of faith they were “broken off.” This decrease in the number of Jewish “natural branches” meant “riches to people of the nations,” inasmuch as Gentile ‘wild olive branches’ were grafted onto the Abrahamic-covenant tree to become part of the spiritual seed of Abraham.—Romans 11:12, 17, 20, 21.
But Paul adds a warning. Addressing himself to non-Jewish anointed Christians, he says: “For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. See, therefore, God’s kindness and severity. Toward those [Jews] who fell there is severity, but toward you [Gentiles] there is God’s kindness, provided you remain in his kindness; otherwise, you also will be lopped off.” (Romans 11:21, 22) To remain in Jehovah’s kindness, Gentile Christians grafted into the Abrahamic-covenant tree had to show strong faith in the primary Seed of Abraham. They were “standing by faith,” which faith they had to prove by Christian fruitage, ‘presenting their bodies a sacrifice living, holy, acceptable to God, a sacred service.’—Romans 11:20; 12:1.
If one of the anointed falls away, then another person is “grafted in” however I would have thought, it would a witness of long standing in the truth, not someone in their twenties, but that’s only my opinion.
WOULD AN ANOINTED BROTHER OR SISTER BE ENCOURAGING ANOTHER BROTHER OR SISTER TO MARRY THEM? KNOWING THEY WOULD BE FOREVER SEPARATED AFTER ARMAGEDDON?
We had a few of the anointed in our congregation; one was a married woman (widow) with a son, so when she died she would not see her son again on earth and she must have married despite the fact she was one of the anointed. I suppose it is their decision.
My advice, dont get yourself in knots over things like this, leave them in Jehovah's hands.:¬)
