AboutBrenda Martin Expertise I have been one of Jehovah`s Witneses now for over 30 years, in those years I have brought up 4 children, teaching each of them the bible.Being one of Jehovah`s Witnesses has helped me cope with my Epilepsy and bring up a daughter with learning difficulties.I have conducted bible studies with people from nearly every denomination i.e. Muslim. Having used the bible all these years to answer peoples questions, I feel I am qualified to give any answer regarding Jehovah`s Witnesses and the bible.
Experience My experience has been one of attending bible lectures 5 times a week,taking part in these lectures in front of an audience and being with thousands of J.W. at conventions where I have seen the bible at work in peoples lives.It is truly a miracle when you see thousands of people meeting together and not one policeman needed, and not even a piece of litter in sight.It is like another world.
Question I hope you don't mind me asking all these questions.
In reference to the NWT the inserted word [OTHER]. You said “The Greek word here rendered “all things” is pan´ta, an inflected form of pas."
And you continue on to say:
Luke 13:2, RS renders this “all . . . other”;
JB reads “any other”;
NE says “anyone else.”
(See also Luke 21:29 in NE and Philippians 2:21 in JB.)
My question to you is Q1-What is the difference between the word pan'ta and pan'tas?
We both know that the NWT, books Matthew-Revelations was translated from the Greek scriptures Wescott Hort. If you have access to a Wescott Hort Greek Scriptures then I advice you to research it. You will be surprise to find that pan'ta is mentioned 240 times, including the verse you mention Luk 21:29 and you might want to read Mat 4:9(NWT) and he said to him: "All these things I will give you if you fall down and do an act of worship to me." Look it up in Wescott Hort and you will find that pan' ta is also used.
The word pan'tas is mentioned 87 times including these two versus you mention Luk 13:2 and phi 2:21.
The only reason why words in brackets are inserted is cause of doctrinal beliefs. We need to be very careful and not guide the word to our beliefs but let the word guide us to a belief!
Will continue later.
Thanks for your time.
Luis
Answer In harmony with everything else that the Bible says regarding the Son, NW assigns the same meaning to pan´ta at Colossians 1:16, 17 so that it reads, in part, “by means of him all other things were created . . . All other things have been created through him and for him.” Thus he is shown to be a created being, part of the creation produced by God.
JW's "doctrinal beliefs" therefore are in complete harmony with what the bible teaches.
