About Brenda Martin
Expertise
I have been one of Jehovah`s Witneses now for over 30 years, in those years I have brought up 4 children, teaching each of them the bible.Being one of Jehovah`s Witnesses has helped me cope with my Epilepsy and bring up a daughter with learning difficulties.I have conducted bible studies with people from nearly every denomination i.e. Muslim. Having used the bible all these years to answer peoples questions, I feel I am qualified to give any answer regarding Jehovah`s Witnesses and the bible.

Experience
My experience has been one of attending bible lectures 5 times a week, taking part in these lectures in front of an audience and being with thousands of J.W. at conventions where I have seen the bible at work in peoples lives. It is truly a miracle when you see thousands of people meeting together and not one policeman needed, and not even a piece of litter in sight. It is like another world.

Question
Brenda,
I'm not questioning your 30yrs experience I'm not trying to enligthen you. Obviously I'm trying to understand your point of view with the scriptures set forth and trying to understand why you did not consider other parts of the scriptures. When doing so asking for a clarification why the versus was not taken into consideration. and Obviously you don't.
Q-1 Are you ignoring the fact that it was Moises who wrote genesis?

Question -
you said [[ Also Jesus knocked on people’s doors and told them exactly that, so his followers must do the same.]]
And I ask you: please be more specific, Did he go door to door, or are you referring that Jesus going where he is needed... can you please explain and show me with the bible that he went door to door? Consider everything before you explain Acts 5:42 And every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus. Luk 10:3 ... I am sending you forth as lambs in among wolves. :7... do not be transferring from house to house.
What is the scripture telling us? What is the difference between Acts 5:42 and Luk 10:7?
Lets first determine what the scriptures will teach us about: In the temple from house to house. John 2:19,21 In answer Jesus said to them: "Break down this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." :21 But he was talking about the temple of his body <----- the point here is to see that the body can also be referred to as the temple. As the following verse 1Co 6:19 What! DO YOU not know that the body of you people is [the] temple of the holy spirit from GOD? Also, you do not belong to yourselves. Acts 5:42 declaring the good news in the temple house to house. Q Are they not receiving the good news each individual temple within the actual structure of the temple? for more clarification lets look how each individual house received the good news in Matthew chap7 look closely how Jesus teach the crowd the difference between the house built on a rock mass. And the foolish man hearing the things Jesus had said and not doing them has built his house on sand. Christ was talking to the multitude on how to built oneself(house) over a mass-rock and those who does not listen are foolish. Q- Do you actually believe this house is made by our own hands? Mat 7:24 Therefore everyone that hears these sayings of mine and does them will be likened to a discreet man, who built his house upon the rock-mass.

Thanks again for your kind response. Like all the JW I met, very kind in heart and obedient.
R/ Luis

Answer -
"MY NAME JEHOVAH I WAS NOT KNOWN TO THEM."

The scriptures prove this cannot be the literal case, as I pointed out; Adam & Eve KNEW God’s name, so it stands to reason all others after them did also.

It could not mean that the name Jehovah was unknown to the patriarchs, since it was frequently used by them as well as by others before them. (Ge 4:1, 26; 14:22; 27:27; 28:16) In fact, in the book of Genesis, which relates the lives of the patriarchs, the word “Almighty” occurs only 6 times, whereas the personal name Jehovah was written 172 times in the original Hebrew text.

SHOW ME WITH THE BIBLE THAT JESUS WENT DOOR TO DOOR?

Jehovah’s witnesses take the good news to the homes of the people because this is the example set by Jesus and his apostles. Luke 8:1 says of Jesus: “He went journeying from city to city and from village to village, preaching and declaring the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him.”

At Ephesus Paul taught Christians how to preach “publicly and from house to house.” (Acts 20:20)

From reading the rest of your posts it appears you will find fault with our beliefs no matter what anybody says, so I choose not to discuss this any further.

I will answer questions, but I will not alter my beliefs as they are based on over 30 years of study, so I do not appreciate you trying to "enlighten" me.

All the best

Answer
Moses wrote Genesis.

Eve exclaimed: “I have produced a man with the aid of Jehovah.” (Ge 4:1) Eve is the first one reported to have used God’s name, indicating that the name Jehovah was known to the very first humans.

To Joshua God said--"Do not suffer shock or be terrified, for Jehovah your God is with you wherever you go.”

Abraham used Jehovah’s name in talking with the king of Sodom. Sarah used it in conversation with Abraham. Abraham’s servant used it regularly. Jacob, his wife Rachel and her father, Laban, all used God’s name.—Genesis 14:22; 16:2; 24:35, 42, 44; 28:16; 30:24, 27, 30.

Moses, Abraham, and many other faithful men of old used this name of God. (Genesis 12:8; Ruth 2:4, 12)
