Question I saw your reply to a question on the governing body, and you said that they were selected as the Faithful and Discreet Slave starting with C.Russell. But isn't it rue that the governing body didn't even come into being until sometime between 1975 and 1976? And isn't it all so true that the Buble Students believed, and still do to his day, that Russell alone was the Faithful and Discreet Salve, nothing at all about a group of men now known as the anointed?
Answer Dear Andy:
Involving your first question, the only changes to the Governing Body during that period of time was that it was enlarged to 18 people becasue of the heavy workload and the sharing of spiritual responsibilites. The Governing Body was definitely around before 1975.
As for your second question, the answer is NO. Even C.T. Russell himself never thought of himself as that. As you may know, the Bible Students, before they called themselves Jehovah's Witnesses in 1931, were also called "Russellites", becasue of him. He did not like that for it gave teh impression that the glory was to him and not properly, Jehovah God.
