About Brenda Martin
Expertise
I have been one of Jehovah`s Witneses now for over 30 years, in those years I have brought up 4 children, teaching each of them the bible.Being one of Jehovah`s Witnesses has helped me cope with my Epilepsy and bring up a daughter with learning difficulties.I have conducted bible studies with people from nearly every denomination i.e. Muslim. Having used the bible all these years to answer peoples questions, I feel I am qualified to give any answer regarding Jehovah`s Witnesses and the bible.

Experience
My experience has been one of attending bible lectures 5 times a week, taking part in these lectures in front of an audience and being with thousands of J.W. at conventions where I have seen the bible at work in peoples lives. It is truly a miracle when you see thousands of people meeting together and not one policeman needed, and not even a piece of litter in sight. It is like another world.

Jehovah`s Witness - Mother?

Expert: Brenda Martin - 3/31/2006

Question
I think that is taking EXTREME liberty and gnostic interpretation of Scripture, but I guess if your mind is made up you have a "spiritual mother" which is an organization there is not much to say. Incredible. I honestly am very suprised by your answer. I was expecting that to be 'old light'. It really instills in me greatly just how far away that the JW org is away from true Bible believing Christianity.

Quote "It is through his organization that God provides this light that the proverb says is the teaching or law of the mother. ...we must recognize not only Jehovah God as our Father but his organization as our mother." -- The Watchtower May 1, 1957, page 274
I am wondering where the WT Organization got the unbiblical term of mother in reference to their organization? I see absolutely no evidence in Scripture about any kind of organization we are to refer to as our spiritual 'mother'?
Answer -
Genesis 3:15 speaks of “the woman,. Revelation 12:1, 2 confirms that this figurative woman is Jehovah's heavenly organization of spirit creatures.—See also Isaiah 54:1, 5, 13.

In the Bible, anointed Christians are called Jesus' brothers, and as his brothers, they share the same Father and the same mother. (Hebrews 2:11) Their Father is Jehovah God. Hence, their mother must be “the woman,” God's wifelike celestial organization.

They become a secondary part of the seed, Christ Jesus being the primary part. The congregation of these "spirit-begotten Christians on earth make up God's visible organization" that serves under his womanlike organization in the heavens, where they will be united with Christ Jesus at their resurrection. (Romans 8:14-17; Galatians 3:16, 29)

The woman” of Genesis 3;15 is Jehovah's heavenly organization, the mother of his spirit-anointed servants on earth. (Galatians 4:26)these spirit anointed ones are in Jehovah's organization on earth.

When people flock to the earthly organization they are taking sides with God's heavenly "woman" represented by his anointed servants on earth.

Nothing unbiblical about it:The apostle Paul speaks of Jehovah as the Father of anointed Christians, his spiritual sons, and of “the Jerusalem above” as their MOTHER —Ga 4:6, 7, 26; compare Isa 54:5.

Answer
"how far away that the JW org is away from true Bible believing Christianity."

How wrong you are, if you examine the beliefs and actions of first century Christians in the bible, and put them alongside the religion of JW's, you will see they match perfectly.

On the other hand, so called "Christianity" today bears no resemblance to the first century "Christianity" Jesus established.

In all these areas for instance first century Christianity matches JW;s--

1. against abortion
2. Apocrypha
3.birthdays not celebrated
4.blood not taken
5.idolatry not used
6.no images
7.no military service
8.no part inpatriotic ceremonies
9.no part in politics
10. no war;shedding blood
11.obeyed superior authorities
12.baptism as adults by full immersion
13.Christmas not celebrated
14.considered a sect
15.cross not used by
16.disfellowshipping practiced
17.divine name used by
18.governing body used
19.meetings in homes
20.missionary activity
21. New Year's Day not celebrated
22.no clergy-laity distinction
23.preaching:all participate
24.predestination not taught
25.separate from world
26.Trinity not believed in
27.unity

etc etc etc.

So the facts show JW's ARE bible believing Christianity, it is the churches of Christendom that are "far away" from True Christianity.
