AboutDerrick Holland Expertise I was raised in the religion known as Jehovah`s Witnesses for 13 years. Since becoming a born-again Christian, I have researched extensively this religion, especially their doctrines and their history. I can answer questions about their doctrines from the perspective of Biblical Christianity.
Experience 23 years of Biblical research into the fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith, and how they differ from the teachings of the Watchtower.
Question Why is it that you are now someone of another faith but still attempt to turn those away from God? Are you angry? or is there something you want people to know? If any case is'nt that blasphemous? Please note that we have no authority over what is and what will happen. God has a appointed time with the rulers of the world who are mixing in with religion. Dont you remember your lesson. Jesus was tempted by satan to take the kingdoms of the world and he refused. He could have easily tryed to make the world a better place. But did he? Of course not see Rev 13:2 and with your teachings now do they allow you to talk about another? Dont you remember the 2nd most important commandment that we should love our brother? But I'm fearful for you because you seem to do what Paul said they would do mumur and Rev 13:6...and blaspheme his name and his residence... Have you forgotten that we should santify the name psalms 83:18 which has been taken away from what is holy? Have you forgotten and not been taught anything referring to Psalms 37:8? Hopefully you continue to relate your time and effort to your new found belief in which we should all love each other. So I ask you the same question God asked Cain before he committed his gross sin "Why are you hot with anger and why has your countenance fallen? Hebrew 6:5,6 " and who have tasted the fine word of God and powers of the coming system of things, but who have fallen away , to revive them again to repentance, because they impale the Son of God afresh for themselves and expose him to public shame."
Answer Hello Nate. Thank you for writing. I am reading this and trying to figure out exactly what your specific question actually is, since this is a question-and-answer service. It seems you simply want to vent some frustrations. That is fine.
I don't mean to be unkind, but I am going to be bluntly honest with you. This is one of the most ridiculous tirades of ranting and raving that I have seen in quite awhile. What are you so angry about??
That being said, I will try to give you an answer to the many accusing questions that you asked me.
You said...."Why is it that you are now someone of another faith but still attempt to turn those away from God? Are you angry?"
Answer....I am not the least bit angry at anyone. You sure seem to be, though.
As far as my being of another faith, and trying to convince other people, this is a clear case of the "pot calling the kettle black"! JWs are of another faith, but this does not stop them from going out and trying to persuade people to accept their beliefs. So, why does it bother you when I do it?
Also, I resent the statement that I am trying to "turn people away from God". I am actually trying to turn people TO the one true God. I AM trying to turn them away from a false Organization that will cause them to be lost forever if they accept its teachings, but this is so that they can put their faith IN God, and Him alone for their salvation.
Let me assure you, sir, that the Watchtower Organization is NOT God, and turning people away from it is not the same as turning them away from God. I believe THIS comparison is what is blasphemous....Not my turning people to Jesus Christ.
Next, you ask...."or is there something you want people to know?"
Answer.....Yes, as a matter of fact, there is. It is a shame that you did not bother to read my profile before you jumped all over me. If you had, you would have had your answer to this question, and would not have had to ask it. Here are a few quotes from the profile that you should have read, which states what it is that I want people to know....
I quote....
"It is an opportunity to help others see what a difference Jesus can make in their lives.....I hope to see Jehovah's Witnesses come into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I also hope to help Christians defend their beliefs from God's Word, the Bible, and help them to effectively witness to JWs when they come in contact with them......I simply hope God will use me to expose false doctrine, and at the same time, lead people to the REAL Truth, Who is the person of Jesus Christ, and not an organization (John 14:6)."
END OF QUOTE (And THIS is what you call "trying to turn people away from God??????)
That's about the size of it. You can go back and read these very statements under my profile, it you would like.
Next, you seem to make the point that Jesus did not come to make this world a better place, and therefore, neither should we. I have no idea what Rev. 13:2 has to do with that, but you referenced that verse also.
Well, of course Jesus' mission the first time He came was not necessarily to make this world a better place. His mission then was to die on the cross for our sins, and be the payment of our penalty. But sir, let me tell you something....This world is NEVER going to be a better place until Jesus Christ makes it better. And when He comes again, that is EXACTLY what He is going to do.
You ask...."Dont you remember the 2nd most important commandment that we should love our brother? But I'm fearful for you because you seem to do what Paul said they would do mumur and Rev 13:6....and blaspheme his name and his residence...."
Answer....Yes, I am well aware of the 2nd most important commandment, and I obey it to the best of my ability. WHAT IS YOUR POINT??
Also, let me help you with something else. Paul did not write Rev. 13:6, nor was he the one speaking in that passage.
You said that you are "fearful for me" because I have blasphemed His name and residence". I am fearful for you, Nate, because you don't have a clue what you are talking about. If you can show me where I have blasphemed God, then I would appreciate it.
Seeing how you don't know me, or know anything about me, I don't think you are in any position to make a statement like that.
Nate, let me tell you what you are doing. I have been around JWs most of my life, and I have seen this very thing time and time again. You have given over your mind and ability to think for yourself, to this Organization. You are spouting off like a tape recorder, the things they have programmed you to say. You don't know what you are talking about....You are simply repeating what you have been told. That is all. It is obvious from the ridiculous nature of the statements you are making.
You ask...."Have you forgotten that we should santify the name psalms 83:18 which has been taken away from what is holy?"
Answer....No, I have not forgotten that. But thanks for the reminder.
You ask...."Have you forgotten and not been taught anything referring to Psalms 37:8?"
Answer.....Again, I am not angry. I think maybe you need to take this verse to heart, because you are the one who is angry that I am exposing the error in your religion. That is a sore spot with JWs. Of course, it is o.k. for them to tell the rest of the world that THEY are wrong, isn't it??
You said...."Hopefully you continue to relate your time and effort to your new found belief in which we should all love each other"
Answer....Good point, Nate. First of all, I don't have a "new found belief", as you call it. I have actually been a Christian for 21 years now.
But certainly we should all love each other, because God is love (1 John 4:7-8). Who ever told you that I don't love JWs? I do.
But listen to me here, Nate....TRUE love will TELL THE TRUTH, even when the person doesn't want to hear it. True love will tell the truth, even when it causes the hearer to be uncomfortable.
You remind me very much of certain people in the churches of Galatia, who felt that Paul wasn't being "loving" when he told them they were wrong. Consider Galatians 4:16, where Paul had to ask....
"Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?"
No, telling someone what they want to hear, is not always the loving thing to do.
If I know that JWs have a false gospel (and they do), it would be an act of hatred for me not to tell them they were headed for God's judgment. I will love you enough, Nate, to tell you that the JWs "gospel" will not lead you to eternal life, but to eternal punishment.
This is simple....Paul defines the TRUE Gospel in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. It is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, whereby we can be saved. You know as well as I do that this is NOT the "gospel" message that you and other JWs preach at people's doorsteps. You preach "another gospel", and therefore, fall under the curse of Galatians 1:8-9, which reads.....
"But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach ANY OTHER GOSPEL unto you than that which we have preached unto you, LET HIM BE ACCURSED. As we said before, so say I now again, if ANY MAN PREACH ANY OTHER GOSPEL UNTO YOU THAN THAT YE HAVE RECEIVED, LET HIM BE ACCURSED."
I will love you enough, Nate, to tell you that I don't want to see you be accursed from God. But that is exactly what will happen to you, if your keep your faith in this Organization. It cannot save you.
Now, since you wrote to me first with all these accusations, and since I believe I have tried to give a good answer to each of your points, I have a challenge for you....
I want you to be man enough to write me back, and name a Bible topic you would like to discuss, and I will show you from Scripture where the Watchtower Society has twisted what God's Word actually says about it.
Don't play this "slap-and-run" game that so many JWs like to play. By that, I mean writing to me, jumping on me for various offenses, and then when I answer you, I never hear from you again. If you think you have the truth, then you should have nothing to fear. So, how about it?
