Question
Hi

To what extent is a Witness allowed to participate in society? Are they able to join School Boards, charities and pressure groups such as Amnesty?

Steve

Answer
Hello Steve,
Thank you for your question and I hope to answer it for you to your satifaction.Plainly put,no to all the above. We are
separate from the world and it's affairs that include school
activities. The reason why is they all involve natoinalism and patriotism.Jesus Christ said that you will know who his true disciples were if they have love among themselves, and that they would be no part of the world.Ths means being completely neutral in any political affairs of any kind. Also
to put it quite bluntly if you will,if all thw world believed as we do and worshipped the only true God Jehovah,
there would be no need for these things you mentioned in your question because they each involve ways to resolve crime, violence, peace, wars, etc. which we give an answer to each and every day in our door-to-door witnessing about the good news of God's Kingdom that will solve all of mankinds problems in the world.I will point out that although we as Jehovah's Witnesses number almost seven million worldwide,it
pales in comparison to the rest of the world of nearly seven billon,a mere drop in the bucket so-to-speak wouldn't you say?Well the Bible,God's Word, and Jesus being called the Word, says himself that there only be a few compared to the many that will be on the road to everlasting life that have the traits he was looking for,as I mentioned, the love and being no part of the world that would make up this small group called the other sheep,or great crowd and also the few that he called them.So to sum it all for you in a
nutshell,we are neutral in all political affairs because we are no part of the world, but we still love our neighbors and
continually to pass the message of hope to them everyday in the best way possible to help. The Lord's prayer says it all
(1)Our Father who art in Heaven hallowed be thy NAME=JEHOVAH
(2)Let your Kingdom come=God's Messianic Kingdom under Jesus Christ's rule for a thousand years.
(3)Let you will be done on EARTH as it is in Heaven=there will be a new heavens and a new earth,a new government in heaven ruling over the new earth.
These three key things in the prayer are vital for salvation
and there is only one small group on earth that preaches and
teaches these to the whole world non stop, yes the"few"the
"other sheep"the"great crowd" Jehovah's Witnesses! Janko
