Jehovah`s Witness - why are we here? Ya know,...

Expert: John Bergman - 4/5/2006

Question
why are we here? Ya know, why do we exist?
is there a meaning of life?

Answer
Dear Felix:

Please forgive me for not answering your question sooner but family and work situations has gotten the best of me.  I apologize.

Those questions you've asked have plaqued mankind for years and in these troubled times, those questions still has relevance.

In many ways we are here because Jehovah God created us to be good, kind, decent people and to praise him.  We exist to serve him in love and goodness and to treat others the way we want to be treated.  Sadly, we can see that many do not do the good things that they should.  Mostly, it's because of Satan and what he does to people in order to serve his commands.  When you see the war, hatred, masssacres, poverty and other troubling situations around, it's plain to see that Satan is having way.

But, I believe, that there will come a time when all of these rotten things will be done away with and the earth will turn into a paradise for all good people, regardless of race, creed, or ethinic origins.

THe meaning of life, sir, is to be kind and to do good and be a person that Jehovah God can say: "Well done, my friend."  When you help your neighbor or even a stranger, you are showing God's love in a good way.

If you have more questions, please, stop by your local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and don't hesitate to ask questions.  THey will be happy to help.

You can also write to me to as well

Peace and Love
JOHN
