Question From everything Jewel could have been, why did she choose to become a singer?
Answer Hello Tanya, how are you?
Well, Jewel had big influences from her father, who's also a singer, and while she used to live in Alaska they did not have much to do besides write and sing (I believe they didn't even have T.V. there), so to amuse herself she had to do those stuff. She decided to become a singer nearly age 17 and learned to play guitar then. She lived in a van for a while, just writing and singing, performing in coffehouses. She got discovered once, and then, well, you probably know the rest of it! LOL :)
It's important for you to know that 1st Jewel was a poet, and then she started to sing! Her mother, Lenedra Carroll sang a song with her in the album "Spirit" (she's also a very talented person). Well, having a musical family like hers, Jewel only could end up by being a singer herself!
