Question I understand that you can't answer about valuation regarding a stone. Is it possible for you to comment on the first part, regarding the a stones girdle and its effect on look/strength/pricing. And can you please help guide in the right direction regarding table/depth measurements for which I should look in a princess cut stone? Thanks in advance!
Tom
Answer Ok Tom,
Good Question!!
As there has not been established an Ideal Proportion or Ideal Cut by AGS for Princess Cut Diamonds, I feel a safe rule of thumb for Princess Cut Diamonds is ex Table 69% - 77%, Total depth% 69 - 73% 32 - 35 degree crown angle and a 16 - 16.5% crown height %.
Also I prefer a thick med - thick girdle.. Too thick is wastefull and less than med. can be easily chipped.
Call the office if you need a complete appraisal.
We can do this with or without an appointment.
Sincerely,
