|Comment||Thanks Rod, for the interesting info.. indeed it's really helpful.. yes i can confirm that it's more than 35 years old. and the '14K' was just a guess looking at the color of the gold.. so i'm not sure about its purity. No Rod i don't have anything to do with stones.. i'm still a university student and it was my grandfather who dealt with gems and jewelry from the 1940's till 80's. i was just going through some gems & jewelry which my mother got from my grandfather as i too have an interest in gemmology.. although if you do intend to visit Sri Lanka some day please do email me(firstname.lastname@example.org) if i can be of any help.. Thank you very much once again.. Regards Kavinda|

all info pertaining to australian opals and opal fields is ok. online valuations is difficult but not entirely impossible. Photographs of stones should clearly show weight in carats and scale in mm. naturally photographs of opals are the hardest thing to take as a slight shift in direction displays a new colour or plane
Born into a pioneering opal family , now 48 yrs old , visited every opal field in australia, seen some of the finest stones ever produced . Sold high quality gems to japanese collectors and europeans and Americans
Have an incredible photogallery of opals ...try me !
