I also have a silver chain link bracelet with that exact symbol on a small tag at the clasp. I am also trying to figure out where it might have come from but the letters are capital P and capital D so I don't believe it is the manufacturer you are speaking of

Hi Veronica flores,

I also got a pin today with the same marking you are talkig about.

Deb Z wrote at 2007-11-18 04:18:19
I also have a crown with script P D marking. It's a dragonfly pin with one rhinestone as its head. It appears to be sterling silver, but I have not located the 92.5 marking

I, too, have recently purchased a piece with this mark.  The piece is a heavy sterling bracelet that seems to be of good quality.  It has a hang tang with the P D in fancy script.  Above is an imperial crown and below is a laurel wreath.

I have found a few Google references to this being by Premier Designs, but I have no further info and no idea of the maker's origins.

Upward and onward...

I also have a piece with this marking of pd. I believe it to be from a collection of pieces of reproductions of princess dianas jewelry.

Sally, I am sure you have an answer to your question on this designer mark.  The company is CROWN, INC.  The hallmark is a crown with the initials pd usually directly under the crown.  I believe they also used different designs other than the crown, such as the fairies you mentioned.  I also read about one of their pieces have wheat design with the pd.  From what I can gather they made designer jewelry from the 1930;s through the 1980's.  There was also a company named Gold Crown, Inc. which was in operation from 60's - 70's.  Their pieces usually have GOLD CROWN, INC. on the reverse side!  I hope this helps!

I also have a piece with the same marking. Necklace with either a PD or a LD with a crown and a wreth below it.

I, too, recently found a unique piece of jewelry recently. The piece itself had a PD printed into the metal, and the box had the script PD with a crown above it and a wreath below it. In research, i found it was a piece of costume jewelry from Premier Designs Inc...tis a shame, for a minute i thought it was real....

I too just got a silver necklace and bracelet set and each has a little silver tag with the same description of the PD with crown and a 1/2 wreath below just as you described.  I too am interested in info on this maker.

PD with a crown stands for Premier Designs - I just got a bracelet with that design on it - and looked on the internet to see who it could be when I found your question.  Then I looked at the gift box and it had it Premier Designs on it!

To the best of my knowledge this mark you describe is for PREMIER DESIGNS.  It is is a jewelery sold in home parties.

I have two necklaces with the crown atop pd, along with either wheat or a wreath beneath them. My mother gave me one that is a  silver cross with a gold x over top and she said she got it at a jewelry party quite a while back. The other is a small necklace with a heart that my neighbor decided to give me. Thank you for the information.

I believe you are referring to Premier Designs. Their jewelry is marked with the letters PD in script with a crown above and laurels below. This jewelry is sold at home parties.

I found premier designs with this insignia.  Looks like it is a jewelry home show company, based in Dallas, TX.  Google them for more info!!!

Hi Veronica, I am wondering if you ever found a better answer to your question. I have a bracelet that has the same hallmark as your description and I was wondering who made it and if it is sterling. Thanks!

vince wrote at 2012-01-02 05:23:46
The company's name for that mark is "Premier Design"

Started in '85.

I have the exact same question as Veronica- same script pd with crown and partial wreath. I thought it was a James Avery piece but obviously it isn't. Am wondering, since this question was originally in 2007 if anyone has since come across this answer.

So in reading the posts I also postulate a guess, the metal palladium has same symbol on the periodic table of elements. I'm not sure how widely used palladium was in the creation of jewelry but there a lot of facts pointing to its wide spread use going back 50+ years. Palladium is a member of the platinum group of metals and is the key element in making white gold, well, white. Also the value of this metal is much more than the value of silver. I'd recommend if your able to have it verified by a jeweler, the items you speak of my be worth a lot more than you think!

I think that the jewelry company that she is talking about is Premier Designs.

Just to add to your confusion… At an estate sale today I picked up an original early 1900s art deco necklace, 935 silver, carnelian and marcasite, original silver clasp… Mark PD. Definitively and definitely old, so this home party co answer is not the entire answer.

I have a beautiful goldtone mesh necklace with this brand and remember purchasing it at one of the jewelry party functions that was so popular in the 1980's.  I cannot remember the name of the distributor.

I have a 6-7 mm gold ball 30" necklace that I know know must be from the "home party" Premier Design Company out of Irving TX, because it was my sister's and she lived in Arlington TX during that time. Glad to finally figure out that one!

I have a Large abstract Gold Tone Brooch that is made by Premier Designs. The Back Stamp is on the upper back inside.(Cartouch Style. What I find interesting is that the exact, identical one you will see all over the internet for salw was also made and stamped by Monet. Unusual to find Vintage Jewelry like this!

The Crown and P. D. in flowing script is sold much like "Tupper Ware" parties....  Just costume jewelry with a rather high price.
