Jewish Food/thank someone for a mitzvah?

Question
I am not Jewish, but my fiance and his parents are.  They let me live in their home for many months and told me this was a mitzvah.  Can you tell me:

Is there a traditional item used to thank someone who has done me a mitzvah?  Can you suggest something formal and display-able, so that the family and friends of the person can see their good deed?

If this is outside your area of expertise, I would appreciate a referral to anyone who can answer these questions. Thanks!

Answer
Dear Natalie

Mitzva mean act of kindness or if you are religious it will mean commandment, precept ,  good deed.

To return their kindness you can invite them to a nice reasturant tell them its for all they done for you, you can invite them to any unique place after  you find out of course what they like to do (i.e. classical concert)
or just buy them a nice present, a personal one or for the house.

you didnt mention if they are religious. if they are there are specific shops for Yudika (jewish) things . if they are not (i.e as me :-)), you can buy anything.

Let me know if this answer suffice you. if you want list of jewish shops I can send it to you provided you tell me which area do you live in

Take care
