Question
dear sir
i am engineering graduate (B Tech pulp and paper engg).
i worked for 3 yrs in a paper manufacturing company (best in this field).then i left the company to prepare for
MBA admission test.ie i joined the company on july2003
and resigned on april 2006 .as the results of mgmt admission tests are out ..i am not able to make it to any
good college ...so i am planning to take up job an
and then to take up mgmt admission tests in 2007 while working ...should i join the company i left or should i
look for another company in manufacturing other than paper
...i feel that i will grow more if i join another company
...that i will get another chance to establish myself ...as my goal is a mgmt career and not a career in paper industry...and i hope to make it to some good mgmt institute in 2007.

Answer
Dear Ambreesh,

Exposure to as many industries as possible just adds more “feathers” into your cap when your credentials are being reviewed by potential employers. I would seek a position outside of the paper manufacturing industry knowing full well that if you have difficulty finding a position, you can always fall back to your former employer until something else becomes available.

Best of luck to you in your search.

Regards,
Andy
