Question Hi! How are you today?
My name is Phoenix Sevillo. I'm doing a research project on improv comedy for school, and I was wondering if you could answer a few questions for me.
1. Does improv require a lot of intelligence?
2. Would it help if a future improvver (um, right word?) had a pretty decent knowledge of pop culture/history?
Thanks in advance!
Most sincerely,
Phoenix Sevillo (the eight-grade wonder)
Answer Hi Phoenix,
Improve doesn't require intelligence so much as quick wit. You have to fast on your toes and be able to play off of any situation that's thrown your way.
As for your second question; as we become more and more of a fast food society, and the youth of today (present company excluded) care less about the things that are going on in the world and more about American Idol, then the leaders of tomorrow will have to play to that demographic.
