Jokes & Comedians/I need help!

Question
Hello!  I love comedy but I have resigned myself to study it. I would love to be a comedian, and although I have a ton of material that is really funny, I can't tell a joke, or remember material.  Is all hope lost for me? I spend hours everyday listening to comedians and practicing, but when I try to tell a joke, even to my husband, I screw it all up and say the punchline before I finish or rush through the joke and miss the critical timing. I know the stuff, I know the way to deliver it, I just can't.  Is there anything I can do? Thanks.

Answer
Hi Jess,

The problem may be that you have such anxiety about your ability to relay you’re material, that you forget or suffer through it?
It could also be some sort of stage fright?
Practice Makes Perfect. This is the best advice I can give.
Practice with friends, family and in front of the mirror.

Good Luck and keep me posted!

Expertise

I will give advice and try to answer any questions regarding humor, Timing, jokes, developing characters/acts. Or just talk about material.

Experience

I have been around and had a passion for comedy my entire life. From performing to writing for others, there’s nothing I haven’t done (save TV & screen). Comedy has strange healing powers and possesses the ability to bring together people/countries. My heart belongs to comedy and I’d love to help with any dream or endeavor you might have vis-à-vis comedy.
