I too was looking for this series as i read it when i was living in BritishHong Kong at the age of 6 - 7. And now i remember one title specifically being "The Griffin". Thank you very much, this means a lot to me.

glad to hear you enjoyed the pirate series so much. I used them in school in the seventies and always found the boys wanted to read them and were never happy until they had found the answer to the next quest. They were eventually thrown out twenty years ago and I actually kept a few and find children in 2009 still love the stories.

I found mine in secondhand bookstores and I also learnt to read with these wonderful stories. She also wrote the puddle lane series which I used to teach my son  good luck

I used this series with learning disabled children and they loved them; they were sequentially written, with repetitive but interesting text. Also came with workbooks. I'm horrified by the prices now asked for these books and wished we had not worn out the ones I used years ago.

I can answer a fairly broad range of questions about children`s books - anything from picture books to young adult literature. Suggestions for reading; book hunts, for example, you know the plot but can`t think of the title of a book, etc; collectible children`s books; and popular children`s books. My personal favorites are Chris Van Allsburg and the Harry Potter books. I don`t know how much I`d be able to help with in depth criticism and theories of children`s literature, but I do have the resources to try to find out when I don`t know the answer myself.

I have run the children's section in a book store for four years. I read books on children's literature and book collecting. I enjoy reading books for young adults and children (as well as regular "grown up" books, too)!
