Question
Bob, In the state of KY can a convicted felon be hired to work for an agency serving mentally retarded people?  I know that there is no federal law prohiting that practice.  Thank you!

Answer
Hello Darlene,
Although this type of question is usually out of my area of expertise the answer is yes. Kentucky law prohibits those convicted of certain types of felonies such as abuse or sexual crimes for being employed by agencies that deal with the mentally retarded. This law is usually enforced by the agency themselves but they follow strict SCL (Support for Comunity Living) guildlines to determine which felonies fall under this law and which do not.
I hope that this answers your question, If I can be of any futher help please feel free to write again.

                                    Bob.
