Subject: Divorce question?

Question
To whom it may concern,

My friend needs some help with a divorce?  She went to Kenya 3 years ago and had gotten married.  She is trying to get a divorce from this person.  But was told by a lawyer in the U.S. that she needs a lawyer that is located in the country that she was married in.  Is it possible to perform this without traveling to Kenya, from the U.S. ?  What is the cost of this process, and how long will it take?  She is looking for this to happen as quick as possible.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Could you point her/us in the right direction? Thank you.

Sincerely,
Chris Raimond

Answer
Hi Chris,
Well, I don't see this being a cheap process, but I believe our law firms can do the necessary paperwork from this side, plus representing your friend at the divorce court here. I assume her husband is in the States too?
I think the best thing to do would be to check out law firms in Kenya (through Google) and see if that's of any help. Also, Google Laws of Kenya or Kenya Law Society. They ought to give you some direction on what needs to be done, and also a list of law firms. Let me know it this does or does not help, then I'll see if there is any more help I can offer you.
