Question
Hello Adam,

I've never had this happen, so I'm wondering if my diagnosis is correct.

I have a wireless mouse and keyboard (I believe they're Microsoft products). Recently, whenever I've needed to hold down the shift key (or control key) - the mouse stops moving.

So, if, for example, I wanted to highlight a range of cells in Excel, I click at the top, then scroll down to the bottom cell. When I hold down the shift key (so that, when I click the mouse button, I'll select the whole row), the mouse stops working - I can't move it easily, and clicking has no response.

Is this something that can be fixed? or is the mouse just at the end of it's life?

Thanks!

Chris

Answer
Hi Chris,
I've just experimented with my mouse in excel and if you click, hold the shift key down and scroll on your mouse it doesn't work. If this is what you are doing, don't use the scroll button on your mouse, but do what you was doing before and drag your mouse down the page to highlight cells. If highlighting a whole column of cells eg. all of a simply click the a at the top of the column and the whole column is highlighted. If this isn't right please click follow up under this email and please include the model numbers of your mouse and keyboard. Thanks.
P.S I'm going to be shown as unavailable from tomorrow so you'll have to email me tonight or wait until a week on Sunday. Sorry for any inconvienence, or it might let you email me but it won't be read.
