Question
I have an annular tear and 2 herniated disks in my L5-S1 region.  I used to
practice martial arts 7 years ago, then continued doing cardio kickboxing in the
gym.  I love the moves and was wondering if I could continue doing at least,
cardio kickboxing?  Even with this injury?

Answer
Michelle,
Medical questions are really outside my expertise.
That said, you must check with your physician to determine whether cardio kickboxing will aggravate any injury.
I've had several kickboxing students who've successfully continued their training even with herniated discs and lumbar injuries.
It all depends on the specific injury, I guess.
The best thing is to get clearance from your doctor.
Best of luck to you.
Regards,
Dwight Woods
