Question I've been training in traditional shotokan karate for 9 years during the past 3 years I've also been training Ju Jutsu and the last year I started mixing kick boxing (mauy thai) into it. I'm in good shape just need to rebuild my endurance for matches after taking the summer off. Do you think I should stick with Ju Jutsu and Karate (Karate instructor got gold and bronze in 2007 worlds in Germany so it's tempting to stay for coaching purposes) or should I take Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?
Answer Ryan,
You should make a decision that takes you in the direction you REALLY want to go.
If you want to excel in Shotkan matches then stick with your karate coach.
if however you want to get better in MMA-style fighting then you have to go the BJJ/Muay Thai route.
But first DECIDE what you really want to do.
There're good coaches in every sport, you know!
