Question We are giving our 8.5 months old baby boy, strained prune (Heinz, 3 - 4 tsp) daily for last 3 weeks as he was showing difficulty in pooping. I am wondering whether it is safe to give prune to babies daily. I am also curious to know the sideeffects (if any ??) due to this daily administration of strained prune. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks in advance.
Answer Dear Jabina,
Prunes should be fine to give in order to help alleviate constipation. There are no bad effects associated with their ingestion except, of course, for more frequent bowel movements which is what you are hoping for anyways!
