Question
I don't quite know what kind of rash my newborn baby girl has, its only on her face it looks kind of like baby acne but I'm not sure, i have kept her cooled down and kept her lightly dressed and she doesn't wear hats, i have no idea how to get rid of her head rash, would you possibly have an answer?

Answer
Hi Janelle,

It sounds like your infant has what most newborns get: Infant acne. This is very common and usually begins when babies are 3 to 4 weeks old and should go sway on its own by the time your baby is 3 or 4 months. The good news is no treatment is necessary. The bad news is it's not a great time to schedule pictures!

Rest assured, it will go away. Both my girls had it and by the time they were 3 months, it was completely gone!

I wish you and your baby all the best. Take care.

Regards,
Dr.Tara, Pharm.D.
